An Ode to Haute Perfumery: The New "Acqua Colonia Collection Absolue" by 4711

Inspired by nature and the most precious ingredients in the art of perfumery, 4711 presents seven new unisex fragrances that range from oriental, floral to woody notes

For over two centuries, 4711 has embodied the versatile fragrance worlds of eaux de cologne. With the launch of the new "Acqua Colonia Collection Absolue", the traditional company is now focusing on luxurious eaux de parfum for the first time. Each fragrance combines natural ingredients with synthetic accords. From the spicy warmth of sandalwood to the sweet nuance of tonka bean and the animalistic grace of leather accords: the result is seven highly concentrated, vegan eaux de parfum.

Midnight Sandal - A dark essence of precious sandalwood

"Midnight Sandal" pays tribute to the origin of precious sandalwood in India. Its woody, spicy nuances reflect the atmosphere of hot subtropical nights and are intended to capture the scented landscape of the country.

The fragrance journey begins with an invigorating, exotic blend of ginger from Madagascar, refreshing bergamot and spicy coriander seed oil. A floral heart of Indian jasmine sambac absolute and heliotrope then unfolds, complemented by spicy cardamom. The journey ends in a warm base that combines the precious sandalwood from New Caledonia with amber and vetiver oil.

The fragrance was created by Mirella Pomina.

I used sandalwood from New Caledonia for this fragrance. This small island in the Pacific Ocean is known as the 'gateway to Southeast Asia'. New Caledonian sandalwood oil is one of the most beautiful fragrances in the world. Cultivation there is characterized by a respectful approach to nature and does not harm the island's biodiversity. Orchid Vanilla - A tribute to the queen of gourmand blossoms

The floral gourmand fragrance "Orchid Vanilla" celebrates the orchid, which is known as the queen of gourmand flowers and contains the precious vanilla in its creamy yellow blossoms.

To evoke the humidity of the tropical forests of Madagascar, the composition opens with a prelude of morning dew, delicate freesia and fruity peach. The heart reveals a floral bouquet of rosa centifolia, jasmine sambac and the graceful orchid, rounded off with warm, sweet notes of bourbon vanilla pods, amber and musk.

The composition is the work of perfumer Mark Buxton.

Bourbon vanilla is the best-known and most popular type of vanilla bean for good reason. The strong duality of the sweet and strong character of the bean can develop particularly well in the subtropical climate of Madagascar. The special aroma of vanilla develops during a fermentation process to which the unripe fruits of the orchid plant are subjected.

Amber Mandarin - An unexpected citrus note in a warm, golden light 

The fragrance  "Amber Mandarin" created by Miro Branimir Senjak is an oriental-spicy reinterpretation of the bittersweet mandarin.

In "Amber Mandarin", the citrus top notes of green mandarin oil, orange and pink mandarin combine with the spicy, dark notes of black cardamom, iris and osmanthus absolute at the heart of the fragrance. The composition is anchored by the warm, sensual tones of amber, patchouli and musk.

For the fragrance, I decided to use the tart green mandarin oil, which is extracted from the unripe fruit. The mandarins used were harvested in the sun-drenched plantations of the Italian region of Calabria - one of the most important growing areas in terms of quantity and quality. Noble Rose - The signature of the rose fragrance

"Noble Rose" celebrates the rose in a powerful and contrasting composition that transports you to the world of Asia Minor.

A fruity-sweet opening of wild rose petals, bergamot and blackcurrant blends with a floral heart of Rosa damascena absolute and Rosa damascena essence. Guaiac wood refines the silky petals, while sweet notes of Turkish delight lend the fragrance a gourmand touch. Finally, cedarwood essence and musk complete the creation to underline the rose signature with warm tones.

Perfumer Alexandra Monet created the fragrance.

For the incomparable signature of the rose fragrance, I opted for a combination of essence and absolute of rose damascena. The essence is a rare elixir that gives perfumes a long-lasting fresh note and is obtained by steam distillation of the petals. The absolute, on the other hand, is obtained through an elaborate extraction process and enriches the fragrances with a sweet, spicy and rich complexity.

Vibrant Musk - A woody ode to the molecular art of perfumery

Also created by Alexandra Monet, "Vibrant Musk" explores the modern spectrum of molecular perfumery.

The fragrance journey begins with a warmth carried by the spicy notes of black pepper and cashmere wood, followed by a heart of cedar wood and the molecule ISO E Super, which unfolds individually on each skin. The fragrance composition is enhanced by musk and the gently ambered wood molecules Ambrox® Super and Norlimbanol® to create a second-skin effect.

The modern spectrum of exciting new synthetic fragrances opens up completely new creative
completely new creative possibilities for the art of perfumery, while at the same time protecting the environment. The molecules Iso E Super, Ambrox® Super and Norlimbanol® replicate natural fragrances based on organic chemical synthesis in a resource-saving way.
The focus is on the upcycled Iso E Super as a new fragrance classic, which is extracted from the by-products of the kraft paper industry.Alexandra Monet, Perfumer

Smoky Tonka - The sensual splendor of the tonka bean

The oriental-gourmand fragrance "Smoky Tonka" reflects the aura of a noble chalet in the French Alps, where you can immerse yourself in the sweet world of desserts in front of the fire.

The sparkling nuance of bergamot and notes of cognac matured in oak barrels combine with the sweet, smoky aroma of exquisite tonka beans, enriched by a spicy hint of cinnamon. The fragrance is rounded off by a warm accord of sweet praline, creamy vanilla and warm sandalwood.

The composition was created by perfumer Daniela Marty.

The noble tonka bean is not only widely used in the art of perfumery, but also refines the highest quality creations of the best confectioners. The fruits grow in the Amazon region of Brazil and are collected as soon as they fall from the tree in the fall. This prevents deforestation and thus preserves South America's valuable ecosystem. The drying process takes several months and makes the seeds particularly valuable.

Majestc Leather - A fragrance journey to the Orient

"Majestic Leather", developed by perfumer Julien Rasquinet, takes its wearer on a journey to the Middle East. In the narrow alleyways, lined with colorful, differently scented stalls, you will find precious leather fabrics that are masterfully crafted by the artisans.

The composition of "Majestic Leather" opens with spicy gourmand notes of fine saffron, accompanied by plum. The delicately smoky heart of tobacco absolute balkan, cypriol, rose essential and clove then develops. A lush leather accord, complemented by sweet vanilla and patchouli, lends the fragrance an intense depth.

Leather was already being produced 2000 years BC. Back then, various precious fragrance oils such as rose water, amber, cedarwood oil and musk were added to the hides to make the leather soft and fragrant. Leather accords are considered the pinnacle of the perfumer's art and therefore usually remain the secret of the respective perfumer.Julien Rasquinet, Perfumer

The perfumes are presented in an elegant, opulent style: both the folding box and the iconic Molanus bottle are in matt black and decorated with gold-framed and inscribed emblems.

The new fragrances will be available in a 100 ml bottle size. The pre-launch will take place on November 16, with the official launch planned for February 2024.
