Orchid Vanilla 4711 2023

As part of a product test, I had the opportunity to try the entire new collection from 4711. My favorite was this fragrance. The sweet, slightly floral scent is perfect for light summer days when you want to wear something a bit heavier, but still smell sweet and floral. I have also layered the fragrance, and that worked for me without any issues.

I am surprised by the poor reviews, as this scent is simply enchanting to me! A wonderfully soft, floral vanilla fragrance that is feminine and pleasantly unobtrusive. It reminds me of Creed Sublime Vanille, just significantly lighter. I cannot understand the statement that it smells exclusively floral - the warm vanilla note gives it a sensual depth. A truly successful fragrance that deserves much more recognition!

Wherever the word vanilla appears, I have to test it.
I really like the queen of spices, although it is often embedded in a very feminine way.

The Acqua Colonia Collection Absolue is quite new on the market, and I immediately ordered a few samples, as I found the combinations quite intriguing.

I'll get straight to the point: The scent does not really convince me!

There is no trace of vanilla to be found anywhere. It is rare for vanilla to not assert itself at all within a fragrance structure.
The heart notes dominate this perfume mercilessly and without any tolerance.
The scent is consequently thoroughly floral.

I can also perceive a hint of fruitiness, then more and more musk in the drydown, but not a pleasant one, and a very soft, somewhat mineral amber.
But again, all of this is ruthlessly overshadowed by floral influences.

Furthermore, the floral quality that can be sniffed here also has a tendency towards synthetic notes, so I just thought to myself: "Oh great..."

Longevity and sillage can be labeled as "moderate" at best for an EdP.
After 6 hours, the scent fades away.
If at all, I see this fragrance more suited for a woman.

Conclusion: Rather disappointing!
