The first time I tested Oud Satin Mood was in Paris, and it completely blew me away. It is a performance beast, with almost unparalleled sillage and extreme longevity. For me, Oud Satin Mood is clearly characterized by the very opulent, luxurious, sweet, and non-piercing rose, which does not come across as intrusive but rather flattering and sublime. This rose definitely sets the tone, although a slight vanilla-wood note can also be distinctly perceived. This note becomes a bit more pronounced in the drydown, however, Oud Satin Mood hardly develops, which is a positive aspect in this case as the initially complex rose remains constant. The fragrance exudes class and something very noble. It should be clearly noted: Those expecting an oud scent will be disappointed.
On the skin, it lasts for at least 8-10 hours, and on clothing, it is still clearly noticeable even after weeks and several washes. Oud Satin Mood should definitely not be oversprayed, as you can already be detected several meters away with just 3-4 sprays.
Oud Satin Mood is a fragrance for going out, perfect for dates and special occasions. It does not necessarily only match fancy outfits, but I personally wear it only when I have really dressed up, and that is when the fragrance elevates the entire appearance significantly.
I own the 35ml bottle, which is definitely sufficient for a long time. As a reference, I have had it for a year and have used a maximum of 6-8ml. What I particularly like is that the atomizer sprays very finely, thus generating a very even fragrance cloud.
The fragrance does not receive a 10/10 from me simply because it is not versatile enough and can feel almost overwhelming on some days. It is definitely not a blind buy, as this kind of performance must really be intentional.
