A new life
Mrs Birkenfeld-Knorr is an impressive, proud woman. As an attractive woman in her mid-fifties, she still expects a lot from herself and is ready to contribute her share in order to wring a lot of life's worth out of life. She sits there today with a satisfied look on her face and her head held high, and for the first time in a long, long time, everything is finally just the way she and she alone wanted it!

Part of this is that her favorite perfume, which flickers in delicate but distinct swathes up her, still seemed to melt creamily on her skin. Intensely fine-fruity-spicy, Hypnotic Poison accompanies her with a wonderful vanilla-floral sweetness. This fragrance suits her like no other, very feminine, very erotic and mysterious, strong and flattering at the same time. Mentally jolted awake again by the distinctive, intensely sweet scent of the lily of the valley in her perfume, which flows steadily from the dark blouse, she takes her leave with a last fleeting glance.

She had already applied the perfume this morning and also gave her dear, departed husband, who has made himself comfortable lying in a long box in front of her, a neat spray of this, as he always called it, "pushy-sweet and slutty floral perfume" as a farewell gift to accompany him on his last journey. Precisely also and especially because he always hated Hypnotic Poison so much!

Mr. Knorr, her married deceased, was an impressive, handsome man in his younger years and the young Mrs. Birkenfeld fell head over heels in love with this handsome and charming person. Unfortunately, in the course of the following years of marriage, his rather plain nature gained the upper hand and left no room for anything more than allotment garden cosiness.

Meanwhile, they had long lived apart and their efforts to motivate him ran more and more into the void. When he then, because of his heart, took early retirement a year ago, things got worse and worse. A television football evening for two was the highest of the feelings to him still for common to move was.

In the last few weeks, Mr. Knorr became much worse. In addition to nausea, diarrhea, and chest pains, his cardiac arrhythmias became more and more severe; even the doctor knew no advice. The sunny spring was drawing to a close and was in full bloom, as were the many wild lilies of the valley in the forest and garden. Then, a few days ago, after a violent seizure and severe palpitations, Mr. Knorr simply stopped breathing.

Now Mrs. Birkenfeld-Knorr sits adorably by the coffin in silent grief. With a suppressed tear in her eye and a hidden smile of her lips, both from an honest heart, she looks contentedly at her arrangement for the deceased.

All around a wreath of pretty, fragrant lilies of the valley, the characteristic, sweet signature of her fragrance, with a fragrant wild rose centered on the coffin, the noble counterpart in the floral duel of notes in perfume. In front of it, a thick vase with a mighty bouquet of jasmine and tuberose stems, as well as the large branch of an almond tree, which flank the sweetly aromatic floral opulence of the perfume so spiritedly. For the in parts fruity juiciness of the beginning of the fragrance of Hypnotic Poison, a basket full of plums as well as apricots stands to the right and left of each of the unloved. The spicy underpinned by the allspice, very fine coconut note, which gives the beginning additionally the special, Mr. Knorr would not have noticed anyway and so it is content for the long and so seductive farewell in the form of a, already present for a long time vanilla note, with a balsamic incense in vanilla and sandalwood each and a fragrance candle vanilla, which shines him the last little light.

For the evening, Mrs. Birkenfeld-Knorr had a ticket reserved for the symphony concert all to herself. She has also already signed up for a dance class. It starts tomorrow, just like her new life!

Until then, thank you very much, and be careful if you smell Hypnotic Poison!

Game night
Playing is my passion. Of course, for a passionate person like me, there are several other passions to mention. And just as the passion for perfume is the youngest of them, I have been indulging in the passion to play intensively and comprehensively since my childhood. I like to play all kinds of parlour games, from games of chance, thinking games and games of skill to various party games and computer games. Even the big gambling at the stock exchange is not strange to me. Particularly I would like to emphasize from the many beloved game variants Skat, Doppelkopf, Schafskopf, chess, Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan and Settlers online.

For the review of Tobacco Vanilla by Tom Ford, one of the most famous and at the same time one of my favorite fragrances, I would like to get opinions from my environment, especially from not perfume affine people. As created for it offered itself on the one hand a regularly taking place skat and double head evening with old friends, as well as on the other hand a large play of the settlers of Catan with many extensions in the circle of the family

So I have me in each case shortly before the start of the two "aroma evenings" properly eingedieselt, quiet also a splash more for the senses, after all, there was also good and plenty to drink. In the course of the game evenings, sometimes spontaneously, now and then also on demand, a smorgasbord of opinions and impressions poured into the rounds. "That smells strong / reminds of Christmas / like spice cookies / no, definitely plum puree / that's clove and cinnamon / yes, of course, they're in the puree / definitely mulled wine somehow / the stuff is sweet / warm and pleasant, nonsense, you're drinking too much / very spicy / like a tobacco pipe and flavored / yes, vanilla tobacco like in the old days, really good / tobacco with plums / for the kitchen quite nice / maybe when it's really cold outside / better outdoors / fiercely clovey and long annoying / you have to like / very dark and aromatic / in the past was more tobacco / fine vanilla, no pudding / pleasantly sweet, also fruity sweet / intense the smell and long / noble / soft / also honey-sweet / dominant / obtrusive / strong "

I try times the feelings of the settlers and the Skatbrüder to the perfume something to order and to bring with my own view in harmony. The immediately present, cinnamony clove in Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanilla no one can avoid. It provides the anchor point of the scent from the start. As the alcohol dissipates, hints of mulled wine also appear right away, but they quickly dry down to Christmas spice cookies, very spicy, strong and aromatic. Fruity, above all plummy, also flashes out quite quickly. Very clear, distinctive and dense, like small and larger bubbles on the still simmering must pot. With its cooling, this sweet-aromatic plum jam note withdraws to a clear background noise and forms with the remaining dried fruits the deliciously fragrant base, on which the other notes unfold well.

The tobacco lets wait, perhaps also because his great appearance in a perfume Tobacco vanilla is expected?! In the course of the first hour, dark, very aromatic and sweetish tobacco notes release from the vesenkung, very pleasant and flavored pipe tobacco not unlike. Well perceptible, spicy, warm, very appealing and long lasting, without further development, which is good for a great fragrance, but also without own dominance. That is too little for the really great tobacco appearance and also a pity. Whining at a high level yes, but tobacco is still a little better.

The vanilla comes to light only more cautiously, but clearly takes over the leadership towards the long end. Also dark, in addition warm, comforting and cozy, it softens the spice softly and brings in new aromatic facets. Sweetness is there from the start, getting a little stronger as the fragrance progresses, but is always appetizing, never soggy, more honeyed. Tree sap, tonka bean and cocoa form no identifiable smells and go very pleasantly in the aromatic notes and the sweetness.

Tobacco Vanilla is an excellent, strong, dense spice scent with dominant cinnamon-y clove, plummy musk notes, dark aromatic tobacco and dark vanilla, accompanied by a dry, enticing fruit sweetness. The scent lasts sometimes 8-10 hours and is good to wear with appropriately adjusted dosage. Gladly in cooler times, gladly outside, but especially whenever you feel like it!

Thank you for the proven attention!

Cock of the walk
The day begins as it often does. As a pensioner, Waldemar usually sleeps late, then has coffee, a roll, watches the news and reads a bit. A day like any other? No, because today is Sunday and Sunday is different. In the clubhouse is afternoon dance tea and he since half a year with eagerness.

For this he makes himself in advance always quite fine with suit, white shirt, colorful tie, pocket square and polished shoes. And of course Waldemar is freshly shaved and usually well scented with his tart cologne. Today, however, he is wearing a different perfume, a gift from his son.

A few weeks ago, his son came to visit once again. They then drink coffee together and eat his brought cake. Waldemar already rejoiced, because with the entrance of his offspring it suddenly smelled of fresh, juicy cherry pie finely spiced with cinnamon and vanilla. Unfortunately, there was only bland crumble cake, but the scent remained and became even thicker and warmer. His son explained that the sweet aromatic smell came from his perfume and promised to donate a bottle as "compensation". He kept his word and so it goes from now on appetizingly scented to the dance.

He likes to walk the ten minutes to the Kulturhaus and was especially pleased this time that with every step he took, a whiff of delicious, sweet cherry grits with vanilla croissants caressed his nose. On the door of the hall hangs a kitschy colorfully painted sign "Ü 60 Tanzveranstaltung" which made him smile. Waldemar is having fun, so are the ladies, and he is a much sought-after dance partner, as there is a huge surplus of women on the floor. Many women can only dance with each other, so he and the few gentlemen feel coveted like the proverbial cock of the walk! Nevertheless, he always has a queasy stomach and concentrates entirely on dancing. Waldemar, however, had already formed quite charming bonds with a single, nice lady in a chic swing dress, with whom he harmonized quite well.

The conscious lady smiled at him in a particularly friendly way at the dance today and he hoped that this was also due to his inviting scent, which by now no longer radiated so kuchig-cinnamony but rather masculine-darker after wood, vanilla and fresh tobacco. A sweet flatterer, however, he still was! So he took heart and invited "his lady" for a walk soon. Her reply, "if they smell as good again, very much so," softened his knees and sent tingling butterflies flying.

Mindful of the motivating compliment and the truly delicate smell, Waldemar first took a closer look at the perfume at home. Horses were depicted on it and Herod was its name. The heavy bottle pleased him well and he risked immediately again three sprays.

There it was again, this excellent, cherry sweetness, beautifully aromatic with cinnamon like a delicious cherry pie, plus a little peppery and carried by smoky fruit sweetness in addition. In the further course cuddly warm, at the same time also spicy and velvety smelling of wood, but above all sweetish-tart after flavoured pipe tobacco. The tobacco is quite moist-aromatic without a clear start and end point, but initially rather cherry and later vanilla flavoured. The whole room had soaked up this scent, even after hours the air was still sweet-woody, spicy-vanilla and smoky-tinged from the aromatic tobacco. The naturally appearing, dark-spicy vanilla is the guarantor for the seductive aroma and the longevity.

The common walk Waldemar now looks forward with impatience, because he is sure that this warm and flattering fragrance of the perfume also seems wonderfully suitable for cuddling!

For the accompanying ride on Herod's horses to you many thanks!

Visit from Florence
Hello, one moment please, I haven't seen them here before, where are they from and most importantly, what are they doing here in my collection? "Excuse me, but I saw plenty of classic scents here and thought I might linger for a moment." Pappalapapp, they're not classic after all, I don't know them at all! "Of course not, but regardless of the classics, their collection also smells very tobacco heavy due to the many wonderful perfumes with this excellent scent. I feel very much a part of those." Well, that's different, then they're welcome to stick around and introduce themselves as well, because tobacco is my favorite scent.

"My name is Tabacco and my home is in Italy, in Florence. There I live with two very nice ladies in a small shop, some call it a boutique, ganauer Teatro Fragranze Uniche Boutique. Under the label Teatro Fragranze Uniche I, and also some of my siblings, are for sale for connoisseurs of my fine fragrance. But mainly Teatro Fragranze Uniche sells room scents in the form of sprays, scented candles, oils and esoteric stuff. The quality is first class and the price range reasonable."

Well, that sounds good to me. Before we get to their insides, let me say a word of praise, they look outstanding! That black robe looks great on them. "Thank you very much, I think so too. It makes me look very masculine, but I'm also very partial to the ladies. This is already my second styling, the first outfit was also black and very classically noble, my current appearance is more characterized by extravagant elegance. This suits me and my exceptionally aromatic, lush tobacco scent!"

"Unfortunately, I am not only unknown to them, even on this extraordinary platform here there is still no review, only four quite benevolent statements and only five users call Tabacco their own so far. Also my photo still shows the old outfit. I really hope this will change soon. But now I don't want to keep them waiting any longer and really get started."

Oh, that smells fantastic right from the start! A wonderfully aromatic tobacco, very whistling, slightly fruity and with a fine spice. A spiciness that doesn't immediately come to the fore in a dominant way, although the clove is clearly noticeable. It smells mainly like a deliciously harmonious pipe tobacco, fruity, warm and with the slightly floral-herbaceous nuances of well-fermented tobacco leaves. Thereby sweetness is little present and very restrained. This strong aromatics of the tobacco scent reminds me in fact something of Tobacco Vanilla, only without the there so strong sweetness of the dried fruit.

"Yes, I like to be compared to Tobacco Vanilla, but I'm sure every tobacco scent will be and I take it as an honor. However, for those who like less sweetness but more tobacco and this until the end after about 7-8 hours, Tabacco by Teatro Fragranze Uniche is for you."

I can no longer detect a major change in the further course of the fragrance and that's good, because the tobacco scent is so almost perfect. He still gets a little darker with time, but the sweetness remains discreetly in the background. Coconut, tea and even the vanilla are not recognizable as independent notes for me, only the clove and some of the cinnamon can be made out individually. All other ingredients are wonderfully integrated and make this tobacco aroma so multilayered and multi-faceted.

"Does this now mean they like me?" Of course, and very much so, in fact. You, Tabacco, are an impressive addition to my tobacco scents. They are an honest skin, you get exactly what was promised, a terrific tobacco bouquet from start to finish. I am deeply impressed and gladly become their sixth user, give them a ten rating and joyfully add them to my collection. "Thank you very much, I already feel very comfortable here with them."

A thank you to everyone who has followed this new conquest of mine!

The way to the land of milk and honey
He had set out again, had run off in a dream to realize his fantasies. The goal he saw clearly before his eyes, the way his feet still found hesitantly. In his dreams he had often been in the land where milk and honey flowed, roasts flew through the air, there was more wine than water, cheese cubes adorned the path, houses were built of cakes and fences of sausages. Idleness was not his aim, but play, fun, and all manner of amusement. He wanted to wear beautiful robes, trousers, waistcoats made of the finest cloth, and to taste the finest perfumes that smelled wonderful and also flattered his soul. All this and so much more he hoped to find in this place. He even heard of a fountain of youth, from which one would emerge years younger after a bath. Unfortunately, the dream always ended at a mountain-high wall of rice porridge. It surrounded the land and he would have had to eat his way through it to get inside. He couldn't stand rice porridge and woke up!

With the first intense smells of the perfume Naxos, fate found a kind of shortcut to him, a beaten path from his dreams to reality and he suddenly considered a small piece of this dreamland unexpectedly his own. The noble packaging, the beautiful bottle and the excellent workmanship already suggested good things and yet the expectations were exceeded. XJ 1861 Naxos by XerJoff is a spicy, sweet perfume with pronounced honey and tobacco notes on finely balanced citrus undertones, a fragrance that flatters your nose, touches your heart and caresses your soul.

The start of Naxos is surprisingly citrus-fresh. The bergamot and the lemon want to show here that they have the first lead. Nevertheless, they withdraw, briskly beginning, more and more without ever disappearing completely. They form, so to speak, the citric path on which Naxos will stroll in the next hours and on which they will be constantly present. No sooner is the path smoothed than it is taken over by honey and tobacco. The aromatic, dark honey rushes forward impetuously, while the tobacco is still a little cautious, one foot in front of the other, spreading only the first light scents. The creamy, even already spicy aromatic honey is slowed down in its flow by some lavender and floral, but gains even more seductive charm. In the meantime, the now thirsty tobacco could also catch up with the honey, in its luggage further finest spices. From here on, the two agile fellows together on their still long fragrant way!

Tobacco and honey go thereby an intimate connection. Sometimes drifting, sometimes supporting, but always resting in itself, both advance unwaveringly in aromatic-honey-sweet and tart-spicy track. The fragrance is thus very harmonious, because also lavender, cinnamon and flowers beckon finely in time and still quite strong from the wayside.

Before now, after ample distance covered, the deliciously fine-herb tobacco can narrow the sweetness of the honey, the two get warming sweet-balsamic accompaniment. The very slightly marzipan, especially the sweetness supporting tonka bean, however, is immediately held quite well on the still citrusy way in check. With its slightly vanilla character, however, it already announces its big sister, the real vanilla. This vanilla immediately joins in coherently without being showy or even taking the lead. Now as a foursome, they will all cover the last third of their distance together, until they slowly evaporate at the finish, after a total of about ten to twelve hours, together with the citric still present.

Naxos is to me allurement and desire, sweet temptation and sweet passion. Naxos is a perfume, an enjoyment with all senses and a small piece of the great happiness!

A decade ago, for the 150th anniversary, XerJoff honored the unification of individual states in 1861 under King Victor Emmanuel II to a united Italy with the fragrance series XJ 1861. The three fragrances released, Naxos, Zefiro and Renaissance, represent magnificent landscapes and the creative heritage of the Apennine Peninsula. As a tribute, the colors of the Italian flag also find their place on the packaging and bottle. This year, a decade later, Decas was released, the fourth perfume in the XJ 1861 collection, which fits seamlessly into the range of exclusive fragrances offered by the Turin-based house of XerJoff.

Thank you for being a guest on my journey with Naxos!
