The Lichens Shine! Maybe too much but that's ok!
The downside first: I do find this fragrance a bit more linear than I'd hope for, given the complexity and number of notes at the top heart and base. Mostly, I cannot for the life of me pick up on the grapefruit or many of the woods.
But, that linear, single dimension is pretty complex and phenomenal. All those notes seem to blend into the VERY dominant oakmoss and create a truly compelling deep, moist, green, and mossy scent that I'm really into. Really it seems like the base notes are SO dominant that whatever's on top never gets the chance to shine. But while maybe that's a little disappointing, I'm not mad at it.
It also has eternal longevity. I had the chance to speak with Miriam at a farmers market recently where I bought my travel size and she mentioned being inspired by Arabic perfumes and that definitely comes through in both the performance and, as mentioned, the deep and complex yet linear quality. This has become my new favorite base for layering as some of my lighter + citrus scents smell lovely on top and once they fade I am still impressed with this scent hours later.
Miriam, well done! Look forward to seeing you again and trying out some more of your scents.

Love.
This scent is wonderful and evokes two strong images for me, and so I will share those rather than delving into the notes.
The first and probably the reason I love it so much... My grandpa was a cigar smoker and this scent reminds me exactly of a humidor. The old wood mixed with dry tobacco leaves is a scent that brings me joy and this fragrance, presumably accidentally, NAILS it like nothing I've smelled before. If you know what a humidor smells like and enjoy it, regardless of whether you are a smoker, you will enjoy Bibliotheque.
Second, and probably more to what Byredo was going for... anyone remember that episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender where the gang visits the ancient library hidden below the sand in the desert? This fragrance smells like that library. I'll leave it at that.
Lovely.

Lovely.
Perfect scent - everything else lacks and that's ok
I could bathe in this stuff and not be able to smell it 30 minutes later... but... I WOULD still bathe in it just for those magical few minutes. This scent is such a smart take on "aquatic." It is so, but without being overtly "blue." it smells like walking along the coastline, or on a rocky jetty and the cold pacific sprays up gently onto your face as its waves crash into the rocks below your feet. The salty minerality cuts the squatic so nicely, and there are hints of very innofensive, delicate fruity notes which I think are pear. I keep a small bottle of this on my desk at work, and when whatever I sprayed in the morning begins to wear off I reinvigorate myself with a spray or two of WSSS.
