Why was this discontinued?
I've been looking for a true lilac scent, and got this in a decant set. It's exactly what I've been looking for. It smells exactly like the bushes in my back yard, more than than any of the expensive bottles that people swear smells exactly like lilacs. Its longevity is pretty terrible, but for the price and the scent perfection I was willing to deal.
By the time I decided to pull the trigger on a bottle though, it's no longer available, I hadn't realized it was discontinued. Not sure I'm willing to risk what people are asking for it on resale sites now.

More unisex than expected
I got this in a decant set of classic Guerlain perfumes, and even as someone who usually goes for more fem perfumes, I think this is my favorite (sorry, Jicky smells like DEET). It's more floral and powdery at the start, but the dry down is wood and leather and vanilla, but somehow it's not heavy and overdone. Honestly this may be the first perfume with oud I've tried and I like it.
It reminds me of 1940s glamour, wearable by anyone. I'm glad I tried this and it's encouraging me to branch out more towards others more marketed to men.

It's a LOT
I feel like there might be a chance of me liking it if it weren't so strong. It's dense oak moss, spicy, citrusy, and fruity sweet, but mostly oak moss.
I've only once managed to keep it on for a few hours before becoming overwhelmed, even with the tiniest drip from a dabber on my wrist there's a full cloud. Enough that I don't want to draw attention wearing it outside home.
Also be warned that this is a full commitment. I've tried scrubbing it and you might be able to reduce it a bit but it'll have to fade on its own. Clothes have come through the washing machine still smelling like it.
I've tried to like it, I've given it a fair shot, but I think this is going to be categorized like IPAs, that they're for more sophisticated palates than mine.

Reminds me of 90s scents
It smells like someone mixed Curve and J'Ador. This is sweet fruity, floral. I see lilac listed as the main note but I'm not really smelling it at all. The patchouli and amber take a while to appear but they're soft and nicely done. Sometimes I feel like they can be overpowering.
The branding makes it sound like it's sultry and sexy, but is the standard HS locker room post-gym class smell from 1995-2010, just with a Gucci price tag.

Powdery violet
This one reminds me of baby powder. I get a whiff of lilac at first but the violet is stronger, and there's whiffs of talc and something damp and earthy.
It's nice though, I don't know that I'd wear it to work but it feels calm and relaxing. It lasts until lunch, so around 4 hours, pretty decent.
