As a fan of designer Iris scents I was excited to get this in after the relaunch, along with Onyx and Tobac. Honestly I was little taken aback at first with this raw, slightly earthy Iris. The top note is intense and projected that Iris for 2 solid hours the first time I wore it. Sometimes I forget the Iris note I’m used to is always blended and softened, like in DHI, VUI and GGRP for instance. The rich creaminess is there, and then later the powderiness but expressed in a much more raw fashion.
However after it finally settles the tonka and vanilla start to take over. The Iris remains but sits back a little. This stage is warm, comforting and a touch enveloping.
It took my third full wear before I began craving it. Now I deeply enjoy each phase. Rather than a like or a love, I’d now call it an addiction. I would never recommend it but it also might be my new signature. Longevity lasted from 7:30am until bed.
