Well, I'll drop the bomb on you...
Because this scent changed my life and I really need to pass this knowledge on to you.
I never believed that there is something like a fragrance that wears times as an aphrodisiac for sex. But then I was presented by the dear Nico this fragrance.

First I decided to test the fragrance for me alone, quietly, a bit curious and did not dare to carry him out.
On this first occasion, I consciously noticed how beautifully my beloved rose was incorporated here again. With a beautiful sweetness of vanilla and chocolate, but never sticking out. The rose is ensnared by the Thai oud and a beautiful patchouli note.
A slight not unpleasant dirty sweat note resonates, which I associate very strongly with the smell during sexual intercourse. The one perceives, however, only if one is very close to the skin.
After a few hours of wear, the oud-ambra drydown note develops again very intensively and rises again and again in my nose. I love this part of the fragrance.

But now comes the part where I decided to share the scent with my boyfriend. And let me tell you my dear ones: your partner won't know where his/her head is anymore. They kept smelling the places where the scent was and emphasizing how good I smell. I myself have perceived the scent by sweating again much more clearly more intense and also dirtier.
And something must be discharged in the process, that the scent completely transforms afterwards. It becomes powdery, cuddly and the rose shows its wonderfully tame side. I feel safe in their embrace, want to fall asleep and dream of a bath in rose petals.

Want to breathe fresh air back into your relationship or just pamper yourself? Try Onyx. It's an order!

I can't imagine my life without him!

Perfected
After a short prickly prelude (seems to come from the power, which this fragrance holds over the entire course) an overwhelmingly beautiful scent develops.
The high proportion of natural ingredients, especially the rich rose, which never gets overpowering, in its harmony with the wonderful resin and the light light woodiness make Onyx special and convincing. The real ambergris gives Onyx an enormous sensuality.
For me, Tom Ford's Noir de Noir was always a very interesting perfume.
But I never decided to buy it, because it was too feminine for me.
Onyx perfects this kind of fragrance for me in every way.
to projection and durability I don't have to add anything more.
An addictive sensuality that I can't and won't get out of my nose :-D
Absolutely unisex and certainly heavenly on both sexes.

Confusion
The first time I sprayed this scent, I just sprayed it on my hoodie.
Because if the scent I do not like I can take off my clothes and immediately throw in the wash.

Was not the case with the.
The full load of rose smashed my nose and I was captivated for the first 5 minutes in a world in which everything smelled like rose.
Do I have to perceive everything as rose for 12+ hours now?

I decided to go down that path and discover the world anew.
No matter what I saw I smelled only rose.
After about 20 minutes, however, I found something that was different.
Hmm quite delicious.
Is it vanilla or vanilla with chocolate?
No matter the main thing delicious.

But the rose dominates again...
On my way I search everything I find to find something that smells different. I don't like the monotone..
After about 1 hour, my entire environment changes.
The rose subsides as I'm out in the fresh air and it smells slightly woody or gourmand?
I am undecided.

So slowly everything changes again and it smells more and more like vanilla with something woody? Is it maybe the oud? And it's getting a little dirty too.... Is patchouli now joining in?

So many questions and no answer that makes sense to me.

The fragrance is very complex and transforms a lot. The top note is completely gone and the base note smells like a new fragrance.

Mega fragrance experience there Aaron has outdone himself.

Should have tested everyone times

Durability + Uniqueness = 1A
I have so far around 150 fragrances longer-term tested or had in my collection and I have to note three points, which make this fragrance unique.

1) I had until now no fragrance of the one hand dirty and something smells like sweat (...is probably the strong patchouli note) but on the other hand so extremely interesting and seductive smells. (... Hate love)
2) Durability: Completely exaggerated. On the skin min. 24h and I had applied the once stronger on a top, then I was eating with it, then make party and had the sweater then 3 weeks at a friend leave and the had afterwards still smelled like this fragrance.
3) Sillage also completely sick: The same evening I had applied the around 18:00. Until around 24:00, so during dinner I had smelled him, but not penetrating. Later in the disco, as my skin warmed up while dancing and I sweated is the scent suddenly felt 10x stronger and I have despite completely smoky atmosphere and hundreds of people in a totally filthy disco just noticed how the scent drowned out EVERYTHING.

=> For the fragrance you need confidence, which polarizes - but it pays off

Oud & rose, encore une fois
Some of the names that Aaron Terence Hughes gives to his fragrances are not exactly subtle: Dirty Slut, Boss Bitch, Boss Bastard, etc. If you take a look at him on his YouTube channel, his rather tattooed figure, his slight hubris, you don't think at the very first moment of the traditional elegance of the great French, but also of the Italian and English perfume houses. But as the saying goes: don't judge a book by its cover.

To me personally, he seems honest and authentic, sometimes funny, without being too wanted. At the end of the day, of course, it's not so much the perfumer that matters, but the fragrance itself. And of course the new names in the industry bring new spirit, new methods, new momentum to the business. So you can find the good man any way you want. Also his marketing and his pricing. What counts is what's in the bottle.

Onyx it is. The first thing that comes to mind is the black jewel. So something special, dark. This dark association is certainly conscious and it is well chosen because the scent has a floral-woody heaviness. But its base is a very familiar one, which is ultimately just another variation of the well-known ingredients of rose, oud and spice. A combination that has proven to be extremely effective in recent years in making roses - and with them their sweet florality - wearable across the gender spectrum, so to speak.

Thus Onyx evokes associations with many a familiar scent. In the top note it reminded me of MFK's Oud Silk Mood - but most of the time Onyx evokes another scent - Tom Ford's Noir de Noir. As I already mentioned in my commentary on Montale's Sensual Instinct, as beautiful as I find Noir de Noir, it's a touch too feminine for me.

Onyx is more unisex in that respect. He doesn't have that powdery-sweet heaviness. It is a clear trace more animalistic - due to its musk portion which cannot be concealed. It is also a bit woody, which also counteracts a primarily feminine scent impression. Otherwise, the quoted DNA of the Tom Ford fragrance is unmistakable around the rose, the distinct patchouli, the vanilla and the oud. But this does not speak against onyx, on the contrary, onyx is really beautiful. Sensual, dark. But warm. Flowery. Woody.

Aaron Terence Hughes describes his fragrance as "perfect date or sex fragrance" and praises it for lasting 12 hours in a massive projection. Well, there we have the hubris again, but also the aforementioned honesty: in fact, Onyx takes on the powerful sillage and durability of the quoted Noir de Noir as well. And like Noir de Noir, Onyx is of course first and foremost an ideal fragrance for the evening (and for whatever else it may bring), thanks to its deep, sensual, warming presence.

Conclusion: If you like Oud-Rose combinations and are not yet over the top, this is the right place for you. Maybe even as right as hardly ever before. And if you like Noir de Noir, you should definitely give Onyx a chance. Especially for men, it is certainly a very successful unisex scent, as the woody and floral parts are very pleasantly balanced. Even though I am a fan of Tom Ford, who doesn't have much to gain by marketing an Aaron Terence Hughes in a niche market, he has succeeded in creating a really beautiful, incredibly sensual, powerful and expressive fragrance with Onyx, although it is not necessarily the most innovative.

An addictive rose and soft oud scent with dark chocolate and patchouli in the opening. The drydown is a creamy sandalwood with a musky rose.
