This Is Her! is being recommended by pretty much everyone at the moment. Whether it's a recommendation from the Douglas saleswoman or a recommendation from the fragrance community. There's no getting around the fragrance. So I went to Douglas to test the fragrance in question. Immediately after spraying it on, I became suspicious. Wait a minute....that sounds familiar. So I quickly went to Parfumo and looked at the fragrance pyramid. It jumped straight into my eye: "Chestnut". That's what I smelled. Chestnuts.

It has become a tradition in our family over the last few years that I am responsible for the soup at Christmas. And what could be better than a creamy chestnut soup? Apart from the taste, the whole house is filled with this creamy aroma.

Yes, and for me it's actually this scent that I find in This Is Her! that I can no longer "over-smell". It is the most present for me because of the association and I can't get it out of my nose.

Not a bad thing per se, but I don't want to smell like my Christmas soup....

I may not make many friends with this review, as many people love Chantilly as a summer fragrance & also "sugarfree products".
The title of my review may be a little misleading at first. By "sugarfree", I don't mean that Chantilly smells like an unsweetened fruit salad. So not like a bowl full of freshly sliced fruit such as strawberries, apples... with a dash of lime on top. Unfortunately, because that's exactly how I had hoped the fragrance would smell! Beautifully fruity.
By "sugarfree" I rather mean that Chantilly smells like the products labeled "sugarfree" in the supermarket. Like that annoying aftertaste of sugar-free Redbull, for example. Unfortunately, that's exactly how I perceive Chantilly. Like a bowl of fruit with sweetener in it. Nevertheless, I have to give the fragrance credit for its longevity.

A purchase I didn't actually want to make.
I was on vacation & had actually banned myself from buying perfume. But like every vacation, there was this one perfumery. The sales clerks already knew me as I came by every evening, day after day, on my evening stroll. There was an amazing selection of fragrances, especially fragrances that are difficult to smell in Germany. And yet I was drawn back to the same shelf every evening. It was at the bottom right - the Noir Toscane - Vanille Raisin. I had never heard of the brand before, but I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised! Great fragrances with good longevity. I had been looking for a strawberry fragrance for some time, as fragrances such as Mukhallat are just too synthetic for me.
I smell strawberry, even if it's supposed to be grape. Not a sticky sweet strawberry, but rather a sparkling strawberry. Like a strawberry-flavored lemonade or fizzy drink. The fragrance then becomes more vanilla in the drydown, which I really like.
Who would have thought it - despite the "purchase ban", the Noir Toscane - Vanille Raisin had to come with me & will be my everyday companion in spring.

My first review here on Parfumo. And which fragrance deserves it, if not the "Casamorati - Dama Bianca (Eau de Parfum) | XerJoff" ? One of the few fragrances where I think the name really fits.

An elegant woman walks along a promenade. She is dressed all in white. Perhaps an airy white summer dress. Her hair is blowing in the wind. Not a cold wind - a balmy summer breeze. Her perfume adds the final touch of perfection to her appearance. It envelops her. Not like a cloud of fragrance that overwhelms people, but more like a soft veil of silk.

For me, Dama Bianca embodies sensual elegance. A fragrance that never becomes too much and yet is always present. From the beautiful, slightly fruity top note to the soft, vanilla base note. "Casamorati - Dama Bianca (Eau de Parfum) | XerJoff" - a dream come true!
