The ugly stepsister
Have you ever woken up in a cold sweat at 3 a.m. and wondered which of your many perfumes you would save from the blazing flames of a fire? Me neither. So the perfume thing...and yet I unexpectedly found an answer: I love my L'Interdits! I'm quite sure of it. Maybe I should put the bottles together in a little bag. I still have a pink goodie bag from Valentino - or would that be blasphemy?

The bottle comes in the usual rounded, slightly bulbous shape and transparent glass. At first glance, it looked like L'Interdit Tubéreuse Noire to me, which really confused me. I would have expected a little more creativity in the design.

The fragrance seems very loud to me when I spray it on. Not so much that it tingles in the nose, more in the direction of filling the room. At first, it smells like the original but more intense, somehow stronger. In the drydown, something green, almost herbaceous, takes over the L'Interdit DNA. Then it also becomes a little quieter. It lasts about 4 to 5 hours on my skin.

I have to admit that I was very impressed by the opening. However, the drydown is too harsh for me. I would even go so far as to describe L'Interdit Parfum as unisex (apart from the fact that everyone can wear what they want, of course).

I find that each flanker has its own personality, despite the typical L'Interdit "bubblegum" tuberose. Anyone who has already found their favorite can consider themselves lucky and, in my opinion, skip one or two flankers.

If you have been looking for a less sweet, almost "masculine" L'Interdit or generally like it a little more tart, I recommend giving the fragrance a try. Personally, I have found my favorite (L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge Ultime) and I am excited to see what comes next!

Smells Like Teen Spirit
I became aware of this fragrance via TikTok. While scrolling, a bearded man in a baseball cap suddenly appeared on my screen and claimed that this fragrance smelled like child support and was incredibly dangerous. I knew what it meant and laughed, but at the same time I had some concerns about the light that was being thrown on the woman. It was really very crude and provocative. And although I had long since swiped on, the thought stuck in my head: what the hell does child support smell like?

The experience begins with a somewhat clunky and very kitschy bottle. I like the design. The color, the round shape and the drop design actually really appeal to me. The lid is an absolute nightmare, as sooner or later the plastic ring comes off. However, as this phenomenon has already occurred with other bottles, I always have a small tube of superglue to hand. But the rest of the lid sits bombproof on the spray head.

And the scent? I would say it smells just like its name! In the opening, you get a beautiful interplay of fresh and deep, earthy notes with a hint of berries. It then becomes sweeter in the drydown. When I imagine the fragrance as a person, I see a graceful 30-something woman in an elegant, flattering business outfit. It is a very grown-up fragrance. Although I (currently) prefer very sweet scents that smell of sugar and/or fruit, I really enjoy wearing it and could even imagine it as a signature fragrance. I can't confirm that it smells like Mon Paris Eau de Parfum. If anything, Mon Paris is a very pared-down version of Chic.

An absolute stroke of luck for me.

The emperor's new clothes
I managed to get hold of 10ml of this fragrance in a sharing and got exactly what I expected.

I've come across the Kerosene brand a few times before. However, as I'm not a big fan of very smoky, resinous fragrances, I haven't really dared to try them yet. But with vanilla, musk and amber, there's not much that can go wrong, is there?

When I sprayed it on, my nose tingled immediately. There's something pungent that actually reminds me of cough syrup. At first, the scent is very pungent and then becomes resinous and smoky. However, nothing is burnt here, just coked. Gradually, it becomes warm and sweetish until it finally smells pleasantly like an incense store. The smoky note lingers on clothing in particular.

Wow, I wouldn't have thought that the brand name was program. However, I have not been disappointed in any way and think that Kerosene has kept its promise. It doesn't always have to be the Indian spice market to inspire.

Shaki-Rah, Shaki-Rah
Like most of us, Colombian beauty Shakira caught my attention in 2001 when she released the mega hit "Whenever, Wherever" from her first English-language album. "Laundry Service" was playing on a continuous loop in my room. Unfortunately, I didn't like the following albums as much. Maybe it was the vibe, my age, the time... I only liked a few songs. When Shakira started to "return" to her mother tongue, I lost interest for the time being. I think music has its very own language through melody, rhythm and sound. It is something emotional. That's why the actual language sung is not so important. But something happens in my head when I can't follow the tempo of the lyrics or at least understand what it might be about. It somehow disturbs my flow.

I was quite surprised when I discovered her numerous perfume releases on my personal fragrance journey. I decided to explore the "Dance" range first. And why? Look at this wonderful bottle! I love bottles that sit well in the hand. And these curves are simply breathtaking. I accidentally ordered the 80ml version of this bottle, even though I only wanted 50ml. When I unpacked it, however, I was more surprised by the size than annoyed. Definitely one of the few bottles that could remain as a decoration after the perfume has been used up. I would just have liked a nice lid. I would also have liked a clip - perhaps with a chic boho coin on it.
I would describe the fragrance itself as creamy, floral, light and sweet. It is nice. It is pleasant. But nothing more. The longevity and sillage are unfortunately not so good.

Would I buy it again? No. Do I regret buying it? Nope. When you buy a celebrity fragrance for "little money", you know what you're getting. Don't you?

À tout moment
I have to admit that I was a little disappointed when I opened the small flat package from BDK Parfums and didn't find a fancy box like last time. As I fished the 4 cardboard boxes with the samples out of the envelope paper I wondered if it was the number of samples, along the lines of "it's not worth it" or the mentality of the location. Well, never mind. At least the samples had arrived intact and so I comforted myself with the thought of not having to dispose of (another) box.

For various reasons, I had been avoiding the BDK Parfums brand for a long time. But with Vanille Leather, they had me hooked. So the next thing I did was stalk Pas Ce Soir. After watching a few YouTube videos, I wavered between the eau de parfum and the extrait. Supposedly, the extrait is supposed to be "rounder". I decided to play it safe and ordered samples of both.

I sprayed the extrait onto a test strip and waved it back and forth excitedly. Then I held the strip under my nose. Oh yes, there it was. The smell of disappointment. On the other hand, I was also a little relieved. Inwardly, I decided against buying another BDK perfume for the time being. So I held the test strip with the eau de parfum under my nose rather casually, as it were between the door and the door. My breath caught for a moment and the image of a perfect Pinterest fruit basket appeared before me. Clearly synthetic, so it doesn't make your mouth water, but so wonderfully ripe and sweet that you can't get enough. In the drydown, the fragrance also gives me a feeling of cleanliness. Damn, I was...am in love. Definitely a signature fragrance candidate!
