A Scent for All Seasons

Recently I ran out of my Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir candle. The wax completely evaporated, leaving a very nice glass behind and the thought that Pomegranate Noir is a scent for all occasions. I loved having the candle on in the bedroom in the evening, creating a mellow sweet mood. I loved having it on during the day in the living room, making the bigger room smell expensive. It is very sophisticated in its simple glassy whiteness, yet the smell is intoxicating.

It finally dawned on me that Pomegranate Noir is my favorite perfume. That is difficult to write because I love so many perfumes, and several of them keep being re-purchased. Yet Pomegranate is a scent for all occasions and all seasons, with its dark sweetness and unarticulated charm. It is woody enough for a cozy Fall night and pleasant enough for a hot summer afternoon spent at home.

Going into my bathroom cabinet made me realize that using Pomegranate Noir scent around the house could be very creative. I washed my hands with the shower gel instead of hand soap; I applied some of the liquid perfume to a dust rag to scent the rooms; I poured some bath oil on some old pinecones in a basket beside the fireplace. The smell was comforting yet light, very British, and so very uncommon.
