Powder leather? Leather powder!
I joined a sharing of this fragrance because the pyramid really turned me on.

My expectations were high, a nice leathery "Harzer" was to arrive.

Well, on the paper strip, the earthy patchouli comes out, you can also smell a little resinousness. That would have been too much patchouli for me, because it gives me a headache.

But the perfume is very different on my skin and I'm very grateful for that!

The fragrance starts with a good portion of leather and amber in the first few minutes. The scent of soft leather also remains, the slightly resinous (for me resinous) amber fades into the background and is replaced by a delicate, powdery iris scent. For me, it is not a dry iris, but rather a light creaminess. Perhaps the musk is involved? In any case, I like it!

I can hardly smell any patchouli in the base either, just enough to please me. I don't notice anything of vanilla. Leather and the powdery iris remain until the end.

The longevity is insane, applied yesterday at about 13:00, I can still detect it well on my wrists (9:00 the next day). The sillage is strong, if you spray too much, the scent can fill rooms.

I think it is suitable for any situation in almost any season. I wouldn't use it in summer because of its "penetrating power". But otherwise it is definitely a nice companion. Depending on the dosage, it can also be used at work or for partying.

Mother's sour cherry compote
On my test journey through the world of cherry fragrances, I joined a sharing on "Duchessa | Gritti". I have already tested various cherry fragrances and am currently equipped with a larger bottle of "Vicebomb | Simone Andreoli", as I have liked it best so far.

Duchessa was recommended to me as THE cherry fragrance, so of course I didn't miss out and went for it. Pleasure? Unfortunately, Duchessa doesn't come close for me, and I'd like to explain why here.

The fragrance starts with a very intense, full-bodied cherry on my skin. Sweet marzipan was also immediately apparent on the test strip, which I liked. On my skin, the marzipan took some time to develop. The issue with the "Duchessa Cherry" is that it is not a sweet cherry in the slightest - at least for me.

My parents had a sour cherry tree in the garden. It bore lots of fruit every year even before I was born. And because the tree was so big and there were what felt like tons of sour cherries every year, our family set about harvesting the sour cherries. Neighbors and relatives, friends and acquaintances were supplied with them. And my mother regularly made sour cherry compote or sour cherry jam from the - considerable - remainder. I couldn't stand it and could no longer see, smell or taste it. Not even nowadays, by the way. Only sweet cherries are allowed in my jam, cakes or other delicacies.

And the top note of "Duchessa | Gritti" smells exactly like this compote to me. The heart note also appears very late, but then the sour cherry recedes into the background and a pleasant spicy scent spreads. Unfortunately, I can't smell any floral notes of jasmine and white flowers. I can smell a little bit of cocoa and I also think I can smell something vanilla. The fragrance then lingers on my skin.

The longevity is unbeatable at around 10-12 hours and the sillage is also quite strong. If you like the fragrance, you can wear it every day, but you have to dose it carefully.

Unfortunately, "Duchessa | Gritti" didn't blow me away, I'm sticking with my very sweet and intense cherry from "Vicebomb | Simone Andreoli" and think my cherry tasting journey has come to an end.

Spicy cherry winter tea coffee
While strolling around town at the end of last week, I happened to spot a tester in a city perfumery and took the opportunity, as I was quite curious about the cherry.

I only know the original Black Opium, I'm not familiar with the flankers.

I liked what I smelled on the test strip of "Black Opium (Eau de Parfum Over Red) | Yves Saint Laurent". I liked it so much that I bought a miniature at the souk to take the opportunity to test it on my skin for longer.

On the test strip, the fragrance smells like sweet, creamy cherry liqueur + jasmine to me. You can already compare the cherry with the sweet Amarena cherry from "Vicebomb | Simone Andreoli", which I really like. However, the fragrance is different on my skin:

Although the cherry comes through right at the start, the jasmine doesn't make an appearance. Instead, I smell the teen note strongly. I feel like I'm holding my nose in a cup of black tea with a very light cherry aroma. The cherry is also nowhere near as sweet as on the paper strip. The cherry quickly fades into the background and the tea note becomes really spicy for me. Like a winter tea with a clove and orange aroma.

Until the coffee note and vanilla claim their place after around 2 hours. And with power! There is nothing left of the winter tea, coffee and vanilla take over. And from this point on, the fragrance smells like the original Black Opium to me, no difference any more.

The longevity is really okay at around 7 hours. The sillage is also okay, my husband can smell the fragrance when he's standing right next to me.

Overall, it's a solid fragrance, but not the non-plus-ultra for me. Buying the mini was a no-brainer for me, but I won't be buying a large bottle.

Vanilla, but well packaged
The perfumer I trust sent me a sample of "Vanilla Shot | Olfactive Studio" (thank you!) and I immediately put the fragrance to the test.

The fragrance starts off with a spice-saffron mix, followed a few minutes later by a light breeze of rose. The fragrance stays on my skin for a few hours. As the fragrance doesn't change, I was already doubting the name. Where is it, the dash of vanilla?

Only in the base does a - for me - nice hint of resinousness unfold with the eponymous vanilla. I can also smell a little bit of caramel. It is not a very sweet or creamy baking vanilla from the confectionery, but a very natural, slightly green vanilla, which I really like here. I can't smell the fruit explicitly, which isn't a bad thing.

The longevity is really good at more than 9 hours, the scent trail is strong at first, but fades to near-skin level after around two hours.

If you like natural, green vanilla and a focus on spices, this fragrance is definitely for you.

Zeta + tangerine-coconut cream
Mr. Stinky Cat loves the house of Morph. Whether it's "Cruda | Morph", "Indomable | Morph" or, as is currently the case, "Zeta | Morph", there has to be a Morph in his wardrobe. He loves this "DNA" of the house.

"Disumano | Morph" was unknown to him until now. Through a sharing, we both took the opportunity to test this fragrance.

The fragrance starts: Spicy. Yes, we both get a spicy touch in the top note, very light, mixed with fruity mandarin. At first I thought it was pepper, but my nose played a trick on me.

The spicy-fruity note is replaced relatively quickly by sweet coconut, the fruity, juicy mandarin fades into the background, but can still be smelled very delicately for quite some time. The coconut scent is really nice and creamy, it makes me think of coconut quark, which is available in the summer as a "special edition" from my favorite dairy product manufacturer. Almost edible! The scent stays on my skin for about 3 hours.

In the base, the fragrance seems like a Zeta clone to me. It smells of almonds and a little vanilla. I think amber, musk and tonka bean step on the gas and do their best. I can barely make out any difference between the two fragrances.

The sillage is strong, an arm's length away and you can smell me for hours, it only gets close to the body late on. The fragrance also lasts for hours on my skin. I applied it this morning at 11:30 and I can still smell a little "Zeta-Disumano" on my wrist.

A beautiful fragrance for spring and summer, I think it's also good to wear in fall. For winter with temperatures around 0 degrees like now, however, I personally prefer my resin, leather and spice sweet bombs.

My husband would wear "Disumano | Morph" even in the middle of winter. When asked why, he promptly replied: "Morph are mine".
