Sun in a bottle
Just looking at the beautiful bottle, you can't help but think of warming rays of sunshine. You almost think you can see the sun shining out of the golden yellow liquid.

Solaris starts off fruity and slightly tart with blackcurrant and lemon. At the beginning, I also perceive a slight hint of creaminess, but mainly a fresh, fruity note prevails, which immediately lifts the mood and provides feelings of happiness.

As it progresses, Solaris becomes softer, sweeter and creamier. But never too sweet. Just a subtle, pleasant and unobtrusive sweetness. Vanilla and floral notes are added, making the perfume appear ever sunnier and warmer. When sandalwood also appears, the perfect sun scent is created for me. Like a day in the sun by the sea, driftwood all around me, I enjoy the peace and quiet and the warmth of the sun's rays caresses my soul.

Simply an all-round wonderful perfume with a really long lasting of at least 8 hours and a good sillage. For me, it's definitely a unisex fragrance (although I think the distinction between women's and men's perfumes is now outdated anyway). And not just for summer, but for every day when you want to spray a little sunshine on your skin...

Summery, creamy. I'm kind of ambivalent
The Solaris is definitely a nice fragrance, but it's definitely not for everyone.

For me, it has a great neroli note, or rather a great neroli and lemon mix at the beginning.
In my opinion, the blackcurrant is subtle and therefore Solaris is only a little fruity. But this fruitiness is good for the fragrance.

It also has a creamy, subtly sweet and above all floral effect.
The fragrance conveys a subtly sweet, but above all creamy florality. This floral creaminess is certainly the point that may not appeal to everyone.
I actually see it as a bit more on a woman because of this. Nevertheless, it is definitely unisex wearable.

At the end, there is also a beautiful, subtle vanilla accord.

Somehow I like the fragrance on the one hand, but somehow I also get "older" ladies vibes.
Quite crazy.

The performance is good in my opinion. It lasts forever and projects properly.
Can't quite understand the reviews.
But that's the way it is.
Every fragrance feels different on every skin and that is also the exciting thing about the perfume world.

Phentaligons- Solaris
Just as I fell in love with Changing Constance because of the salted caramel note, the salty lemon note in Solaris makes me melt away.

Both perfumes for me Chef's Kisses, special, beautiful and pleasant to wear, as the sillage doesn't take anyone by surprise, but is present. The longevity is TOP, the development of Salaris is also well done. Both have a subtle fresh spicy nuance and are not too dense, which makes them easy to wear even at daytime.
I got to know Solaris through a sharing. I have to say that I really like it! A creamy floral fresh scent, without mmN cheap sunscreen hints, so it's not just for the beach. The white flowers are not too much, so there is no risk of headaches, and the wood and lemon freshen up and take away the density of the floral arrangement.

The English know how to create fine fragrances. Definitely a pleasure for me.

PS: Solaris is by no means a unisex fragrance and that's a good thing.

Very feminine but beautiful for me!
Many thanks to Andreas for the bottling of Solaris :-) In the end, I have to say that this is a beautiful, albeit very feminine fragrance. My best friend was also full of praise. In the first 6 hours the whole thing performed great but even after about 12 hours it still smells a little close to the skin. The sillage is also pretty good.

The top note smells creamy, floral, fruity and a little green. It makes me think of sun cream, blackcurrant, neroli and some citrus. The top note remains creamy, green and floral, but also has a narcotic and balsamic scent of tiare, ylang-ylang, tuberose and jasmine blossom. The base again offers a lot of sun cream with bourbon vanilla. Sandalwood and cedarwood provide a great, woody-balsamic finish.

To the ladies out there: please try it! Even I, as a man, would get the bottle if it were a little cheaper. The fragrance invites you to fall in love!

Reaching for the sun
In Greek mythology, the overconfident Icarus fell to his death because he flew too high and burned his wings on the sun. His death is therefore seen as a punishment from the gods for his impudent grab for the sun. Even though the fragrance originally comes from the "British Tales" collection, which includes some of Penhaligon's very first scents from the 17th century and still inspires noses today with its blend of timeless and modern notes, I feel, at least in the case of Solaris , that Greek mythology tells the more appropriate story here.

But don't worry, reaching for this fragrance, which is supposed to be a timeless ode to the sun beaming with an embrace of white flowers, is by no means a crash! Rather, it's a heavenly experience that won't leave you sunburned. Even if the start is a little bumpy and I'm not the biggest fan of the combination of lemon and blackcurrant, everything that follows is like a vitamin D cure in winter. A gently creamy fragrance with floral notes nestles around you and reminds me strongly of a fragrance that I have praised to the skies, namely Eau de Soleil Blanc The fragrance is declared as unisex and that is perfectly fine, because even though it may have a rather feminine touch due to the floral notes and its gentle nature and a proud 80 percent of the 66 users of the fragrance on Parfumo are female, the sun shines equally for everyone.

In terms of performance, you won't be able to power your solar panels with Solaris. I was able to experience four sprays on my neck for about four hours. For an EdP this is rather mediocre.

The bottle with its typical Penhaligon's bow captures the sunny character of the fragrance very well and simply looks cute.

In terms of price, the fragrance is in the higher class. i found 100ml on the internet from 160 euros. The fragrance DNA and the bottle justify the price, but the performance could have done with a little more vitamin D.

As I have already made the comparison with Tom Ford's creation, I must now conclude by telling you which of the fragrances I would recommend. Even though Solaris is a really solid fragrance that reaches for the sun, Eau de Soleil Blanc not only provides you with heavenly elements, but also earthly elements in the form of dreamy beach vibes and is my summer favorite so far.

Signs of summer to come: light citrus morphs into gentle flowers dancing in the breeze and ends with a warm, lovely sweet, skin scent.
