Believe the Hype
I completely understand why this fragrance is so "hyped" online.
It is simply beautifully sweet-cinnamon and smells like a warm, cozy hug on a dark, dreary winter day.
The first spray is pure cinnamon, which I absolutely love. This WOW-cinnamon feeling lasts about 5 minutes.
In the dry-down, however, the fragrance becomes softer and reminds me of chocolate-covered dates and freshly baked apple pie in the best possible way.

Perfect for both men and women with a weakness for super sweet, dessert-like, and bold scents.

The fragrance lasts long and has an incredible sillage. 1-2 sprays are enough to fill the entire room with the scent. More should not be applied, otherwise there is a risk of oversaturation, which can cause headaches for both yourself and those nearby.

Pure nostalgia!
Normally, I am always a bit skeptical about reissues, especially with A&F, who have significantly downgraded the quality of their fragrances in the past.
Nevertheless, I was curious about the scent and must say: I was pleasantly surprised!

The fragrance itself starts with a citrusy top note and then unfolds into a complex mix of lavender and woody aromas, which I would describe as "Barbershop" or "After Shave" à la Gillette. This blend gives the fragrance a classic (but not outdated!) quality that is perfect for everyday use, especially for the cooler months.

The only point of criticism would be that the citrus opening initially comes off with a somewhat synthetic and slightly overly soapy scent, almost like cleaning products. But that fades over time.
I would not recommend the fragrance to younger wearers (under 25), and definitely not as a blind buy.

I find the longevity to be very good; I can still perceive the scent, which I apply in the morning after showering, in the evening, albeit only very faintly. Only the sillage is a bit subdued, but that's not particularly detrimental to the fragrance.

Overall, A&F Woods is a fragrance that stands out with its classic composition and finds many admirers who appreciate its timeless elegance and are looking for a mature, everyday scent.

Does it smell like Namibia?
I don't know, but I hope to find out one day. It's not necessarily something I would associate with camping under the stars.

The scent actually reminds me more of an old motorcycle leather jacket dipped in syrup, with a bit of smoke and a hint of oud in the background.

The perfume at least delivers on its promise: oud and leather.
The oud note is weak and doesn't come across as very natural - but still easier to wear.
It would be more interesting if it had a slight floral note that would give it more naturalness.
Instead, this scent reminds me of a person who would like to wear a cool leather jacket but doesn't dare to because they live in a Barbie world and don't want to offend anyone.
Hmm... overall, I would say the scent is pleasant, at best okay, but for the prices Margiela is asking these days, quite difficult. I think there are better alternatives out there.

In my opinion, the scent is rather masculine, remarkably long-lasting on my skin, and very strong; I can still perceive it for hours despite just a small spritz on my wrist.

A Double-Edged Sword
Without a doubt one of my favorite scents that I have loved for many years. The fragrance strikes a pretty good balance between woody notes and "blue and bright" citrus scents. Classic, sporty, and fresh. An ideal scent for both casual daytime wear and elegant evening events.
However, the longevity really leaves much to be desired. Maximum 3-4 hours and the scent is completely gone, especially considering that one has certain expectations regarding longevity for the price.
The multitude of alternatives are unfortunately not better: Montblanc Legend has, in my opinion, even worse longevity. Percival is somewhat "blurry" in terms of scent. Such a shame :/
