Lost in Cherry..
...is my motivation to study for the next tax exam. But let's start from the beginning!
It all started with the deal from dear Amylovesyou - I just had to jump on it and secure this beautiful bottle. The red could not be more fitting for a cherry, Tom Ford really does a great job in the Private Blend line.
There are many fragrances where you don't really know what you're getting and then you are either completely surprised, horrified, or thrilled - with Lost Cherry it's a bit different. After all, Lost Cherry carries its scent right in the name - the cherry. And you get it, full blast. When I first sprayed it, I briefly thought of the cherry Hubba Bubba. That used to accompany me a lot during school days, as it had, like Tom Ford, such a sweet, captivating cherry note.
The quite strong sweetness does fade a bit after a few minutes, and a hint of almond and tonka bean joins in, making the scent even rounder and more pleasant. It shifts away from Hubba Bubba towards cherry liqueur. Not bad either ;)
On my skin, it hardly changes anymore, and that's a good thing. I wanted cherry, and I got cherry. For the next 6-7 hours, I feel like I've fallen into a cherry tree, and anyone who chases after me would think the same.
The scent is great for both women and men, but as a man, you should be aware of the sweetness; if you don't like that or never liked Hubba Bubba, you should stay away from Lost Cherry!
To conclude my experience with the anecdote I started with, I am now sitting here writing this comment with the best knowledge to write a tax exam tomorrow. But I keep sniffing my wrist to enjoy the cherry scent - hopefully, tomorrow the professor will be in a good mood for cherries :-)

A Maritime Rendezvous in Oceania
Oud Minerale. A name that I initially couldn't quite grasp. A brief anecdote first:
I first smelled it over a year ago at a friend's place. I hadn't sprayed any fragrance on myself, but he offered me to try his latest acquisition, Oud Minerale. We were out in the evening and later went to a shisha bar. And what can I say, even though in the shisha bar more clouds of smoke and scent collide than barley with malt in a brewery, it was constantly present. Oud Minerale found its way to my nose at all times. I was fascinated. The next morning, I aired out my sweater because I find the cold smoke that collects in clothes repulsive. But what remained after airing it out? Right, Oud Minerale.
So much for that. From that moment on, I wanted to have the scent always, but I was always too stingy to pay the price for it. But times have changed; after all, I am now a Parfumo member ;-) (my poor wallet) and now I am a proud owner of a bottle.
Upon spraying, the scent immediately opens with a refreshment reminiscent of a sea breeze. It's hard to describe what happens here. On one hand, it's aquatic and fresh, while on the other, it's also salty, peppery, and woody. This combination is unique and I am not familiar with anything like it. Especially for Tom Ford, it's often hit or miss, but this one truly appeals to almost everyone.
The longevity is really enormous for me, and for hours on end, I can inhale a hint of vacation. Especially in the current times, it's a privilege not to be underestimated.
The sillage is good; you are definitely noticed, but it's also not too intrusive to wear it in the office.
It's really a shame that TF has been discontinued, but all the better to finally have it in my possession.

A Peppery, Musk-Bathed Blackcurrant
I didn't have to think long about which fragrance I would write my first comment on.
First of all, I haven't been in the perfume world for very long, so some scents probably smell "less spectacular" to me than to a trained nose, but with a fascinating fragrance, it's like a goal-rich football match; even a layperson can recognize the special quality.
From the very first spray of Aqaysos, I knew it was the one. It’s a bit like the first eye contact with the love of your life.
But how does an incomparable smile of a future partner reflect in a fragrance?
Upon spraying, I was briefly surprised; the initial scent was a bit indefinable. DaveGahan compared it to Voltaren ointment, which is quite accurate, but I somehow liked the smell of that even as a child. So, I was curious to keep inhaling. But in no time, a hint of citrus joined in.
This hint, however, is not perceptible for long, as then a blackcurrant takes over, and oh boy! Not too sweet but very ripe and authentic, almost a bit sharp.
Just like the first time your eyes meet the love of your life. Special.
With it comes the musk, and already, in my example of love at first sight, the male part emerges, wanting to win over the woman. Exactly with this underpinning of musk, the blackcurrant is strengthened and comes peppered on top. I usually like fruit combined with hearty flavors in dishes like Hawaiian pizza or bacon-wrapped dates. But this harmonizes excellently with the blackcurrant and pepper.
Maybe I should test this combination as a snack next time.
Now to the longevity; unfortunately, this is not eternal compared to the love of your life. But still very solid. During my last long car ride, it happened several times that a breeze of blackcurrant found its way into my nose. It's addictive because it's not intrusive but always pleasant. The scent lasted a good 7 hours on me, which is perfectly fine.
The sillage is a bit more discreet; the musk-peppered blackcurrant is more noticeable close to the skin after 2-3 hours. However, since I primarily wear the fragrance for myself, it's not that important to me if not everyone can sniff out my blackcurrant pouch that I wear around my neck:-)
The bottle is unassuming and feels good in the hand. Only the fill level is not easy to read.
For me, it's an absolute dream of a scent that fits perfectly on slightly cool to somewhat warm (not too hot) days.
