It's perfect... wait a minute!
By chance I came across Marc Gebauer's perfume videos 2 years ago. At the time, they were all with Herbert Stricker.
As a personality on YouTube, he was still quite likeable, but it quickly became clear that Marc didn't know much about perfume.
He would parrot most things and when he did say something himself, it was usually complete nonsense.
So I was surprised when he came out with his own fragrances.
Now I finally got around to testing Orange Flamingo. It was described as fruity-sweet with very good longevity and sillage.
My expectations were therefore quite low, as I was expecting something similar to Erba Pura. I don't like that fragrance at all. However, it turned out quite differently.
Sprayed on for the first time and...
what? That's Orange Flamingo by Marc Gebauer? Smell it again... smell it again... smell it again..
It was... perfect.
Simply perfect.
Fresh laundry with a hint of orange and bergamot.
I had to laugh.
Laughing because it was sooo good.
It reminded me of the warm days in Spain.
My younger years in the 2000s in Spain.
Where we went every year over the summer.
I was really in love; I had found the perfect perfume.
I wore it all day and had to smell it on my arm every now and then.
Suddenly I had a 3-hour car journey ahead of me.
Finally over, smelling again.
Huh???
What???!
No or??
I assumed from the scent notes that the orange would slowly fade away.
However, everything fresh, citrusy and fruity had disappeared.
Did I spray something of my mother's on there earlier?
It smelled completely different.
Floral.
Floral, floral, floral.
Suddenly I smelled like a 10-year-old girl.
Xerjoff Accento was allowed to continue because it was just too flowery for me.
As everyone should know, this is one of Marc Gebauer's favorite fragrances.
And over time, it's becoming more and more like this one.
I'm really disappointed that this fragrance is taking such a huge turn.
Sure, it's winter and you can try it again in summer... but the top note doesn't last any longer.
I maintain that this fragrance is very pleasing.
It's very hard not to like it, despite its strong longevity and sillage, especially with the top note.
It's not offensive, it just smells clean and as if you've accidentally sprayed yourself with your washing powder.
Unisex at the beginning, for women from the heart note onwards.
I'm really not someone who wears typically masculine fragrances and needs it hard.
But for the life of me I can't imagine that boys, let alone men, can rock Orange Flamingo.
Don't get me wrong.
The fragrance itself is still great, hence the good rating.
However, I would much rather smell it on my girlfriend than on me.
You can try it out for yourself.
The longevity is actually very good, as is the sillage.
But it's also logical when you consider the oil concentration of 40%.
The bottle is quite beautiful, 8/10.
Price is very proud at 200€/100ml.
Especially because there is no smaller size to buy.
But Marc also deals exclusively with niche fragrances, so the high price was foreseeable.
I recommend everyone to try Orange Flamingo.
But then first by bottling.
I'm sure that either you or your partner will really like it.
I hope you enjoyed my review.
I would be very happy about a rating or a reply; I always read through everything.

PDM has done it again!
When I found out that Parfums de Marly was launching a new perfume, I was immediately hooked again.
It's my absolute favorite perfume brand and I already own either the whole bottle or individual samples of almost all the fragrances
I also ordered a 10ml bottle straight away so that I could test it extensively.
I was very enthusiastic the first time I sprayed it on.
Althaïr is a fragrance that smells exactly as you imagine it when someone describes it to you.
The whole process is very interesting and it smells great at every stage.
It starts with bergamot and orange blossom. It is still very fresh and you would really think you could rock it even in warm temperatures.
After about 2-5 minutes, you also notice the cinnamon.
This then lends a certain sweetness.
From this point on, the fragrance becomes deeper and cozier.
The freshness subsides and the cinnamon blends with the vanilla, which slowly but surely becomes more present and comes to the fore.
Suddenly it becomes woody and you ask yourself: What's going on now?
The praline can still be perceived over time, but vanilla and sweet woody notes dominate from then on until the end.
The longevity is surprisingly good, it easily lasts 9-10 hours.
If you own the bottle and get more per spray than with a bottling, you can certainly get even more out of it.
The sillage is also good compared to other perfumes, but not as good as the durability.
I would say that Althaïr is very pleasing. Despite its sweetness, it doesn't offend at all.
I am convinced that you can even wear it as an office fragrance on cold days, as it exudes a certain maturity and authority.
Even though it is considered unisex, I find it hard to imagine it on women.
I would recommend it for boys and men between the ages of 18 and 40.
When I first saw the bottle, I wondered why they used such an unattractive brown color.
But once you've worn it, you realize that this color simply reflects the fragrance perfectly.
The sweet-gourmand, the vanilla and the wood.
Suddenly it all makes sense.
Funnily enough, I wear it every time with brown/cream clothes.
The 10ml sample is now also empty after 2 months, which is why the bottle has to come.
But only next fall, because Althaïr is only for the cold season and this is now (hopefully) slowly fading away.
Parfums de Marly definitely has no other fragrance that smells quite like it.
They tried something new and it worked.
I would say that Althaïr, together with Herod, are the best fragrances of the brand.
The price is high, but it's also upper niche.
You really can't complain about that.
