Tom Ford's Beau de Jour is a beautiful, masterfully crafted, multi-faceted fragrance.
In my nose, Beau de Jour opens with a very beautiful and authentic lavender note. Aromatic rosemary and woody oakmoss and a subtle florality create an accord that smells like a hint of wild flora on a hiking trail. The lavender emerges more clearly, transitioning from soapy to a drier collection of lavender flowers. At this point, Beau de Jour is classy, spicy and aromatic. In the drydown, the warm and soothing effect of patchouli is also apparent.
Overall, this fragrance lasts 4-10 hours on my skin, depending on whether you use one or five sprays. It has an impressive but not overwhelming projection and definitely leaves some sillage as you move around the room.
