The Ever-Painful Wound
Times change, things come and go, and usually, I have no problem with that. But with Tendre Poison... it still hurts a little.
I fell in love with this beautiful perfume right after its release. I must have sprayed through 3 bottles, it was the 90s, I had just graduated and had little money, but I simply couldn't do without Tendre Poison. It was ALWAYS in my, then still very small collection, it was my signature scent for years, and whenever I was sad, a spritz was enough to cheer me up again. I was overjoyed when a friend gifted me a nearly full bottle because she simply didn't like Tendre Poison.
We could have lived happily and contentedly ever after. Until Dior threw a wrench in the works.
I found out far too late that you had been discontinued, far too late to stock up on any remaining supplies. And to this day, I wonder, Dior wtf???? Why exactly THAT one? For years, I kept thinking about you, lamenting, telling everyone about it, searching for a replacement but to no avail. In the meantime, I have a replica that comes quite close to the original, even though it doesn't have that finely woven, delicate quality of the original.
Only the release of
Pure Poison 10 years later eased my pain, even though it is completely different. I have several backups of that in my drawer. You never know...

Fragrance snobs, open your hearts!
I don’t know HOW Jeanne En Provence does it, but for an absolute bargain price, you get a truly cheerful summer freshie that can hold its own against much more expensive perfumes of a similar style.
Beautiful lemon at the start, a bit of green, slightly bitter notes come in, probably from the grapefruit and the verbena, which also adds a little herbal bite.
After about 2-3 hours, only a hint of musk remains with a touch of herb garden, but so what? Happy re-spraying!
On top of that, it comes in a sweet bottle with retro vibes. I’m really convinced by it! It’s the better "Versense | Versace," which I also like very much but costs four times as much. If you enjoy fresh lemon scents and don’t mind that it, like most freshies, isn’t a longevity bomb, you can buy this one blind.

Poor thing...
...I have to step in for you here. I think you come off like Cinderella among the nasty sisters. Yes, this is not a superb niche fragrance. Yes, it’s a bit squeaky, maybe everyone is outraged because you carry the name "Paris" and many people associate that with the pinnacle of elegance. But seriously, if the name were the program, quite a few fragrances would have a real problem, right, "Lost Cherry"..."Vanilla Sex"..."Rose Prick"...and whatever else you all are called. "Mon Paris" is a sweet, strawberry-heavy scent (strawberry done beautifully, not everyone can manage that!) with a lovely peony and a bit of musk. You might find all of that mundane and trivial, but as we know, mundane and trivial also exist in abundance among 250-euro fragrances. I like you, little Cinderella!

The Rose Bouquet Wags
Rose enthusiasts will now say "There are better ones!", "It doesn't last!". That may be true. But rarely has a rose bouquet lifted my spirits as much. Normally, I eye it with a lot of suspicion...far too often this thing is misused as cheap romantic kitsch, a cliché for seduction. Red roses as the pinnacle of romance? Noooooo, really not!
You need a little spray orgy, but we all have too many fragrances anyway, and if you apply a bit, it’s really fun! Not heavy, not cloying, carefree and light and deliciously rosy-green...you almost think you can sniff out the different varieties of roses; otherwise, not much happens in my perception. Rose with rose on a stem with leaf.
Yes, it noticeably weakens after about 2 hours, and after 3-4 hours, I can hardly perceive it anymore.
But let's be honest...I don’t want the guy with the rose bouquet for eternity!

Windhose...ohne Hose!
Wow, I love you instantly and intensely! Your freshness almost knocks me off my feet. Green mandarin and bergamot give me a wild hairstyle, I stand there blissfully laughing in the wind and want to take off, let myself be carried away by this gust, green, bitter notes join in, vetiver?, I squeal with joy like a child "More, more, more!". And then, from one second to the next, the wind hose runs out of breath and I crash, bewildered, on my backside. Around me, complete stillness.
This scent is truly amazing...but so fleeting that you want to call the Ghostbusters.
