Gone!
Too bad somehow especially for me!

Today, Monday 21/06/2021, made the last sprays from the bottle.
In these summer high temperatures of recent years, this eau de toilette is / was an excellent refreshing option.

Perhaps it may have had a shortcoming with me in terms of adhesion, but this may be due to my skin. The fact was, after just under 40 minutes is / was the fragrance practically no longer present on me.
No matter, I had then simply re-sprayed!

Postitiv for it was but generally the reaction, of people who perceived this EdP in the immediate vicinity.
"Oh, what you have there for a great scent!", was the often expressed reaction. No matter now, whether in the elevator, on the plane, on the train or tram etc. etc.

The more it makes me sad that I can no longer buy this particular EdT because, after the sale of this French. Perfume brand, to the Spanish perfume and fashion giants PUIG, began the great assortment purge. And this included the production end of "Mandarine".

To date, I had no opportunity from the line "Histoire d'Orangers" to make a fragrance test. But orange is not tangerine!

But ... well then, time will bring me new!

BRUT - A varied perfume and company history
BRUT, then still with the addition of Fabergé, has undergone an enormous transformation since 2007. If you consider that BRUT once was - by sales - with its perfume by-products, the most successful perfume brand in the 1970s and 1980s ?

But it all started with perfume when a US businessman bought the right to use the name Fabergé for cosmetics from Carl Fabergé's two sons - Alexander and Eugene - for 25,000 US $ in 1951. This perfume company, called Fabergé Inc. changed hands several times over the next decades, until it finally ended up with the Dutch-British conglomerate Unilever. Unilever had acquired the perfume brand with all its rights, then in 1989 for 1.55 billion US dollars (= 2.81 million DM at that time), where it remained as Lever Fabergé until the end of 2006.

In January 2007, a Russian oligarch, through his Cayman Islands-based investment group, acquired from Unilever - for an undisclosed purchase price - all Fabergé name rights and the associated licenses.

The perfume itself plus by-products such as deodorants or soaps etc., were from now on no longer allowed to bear the addition "Fabergé" on packaging and flacons.

Today, the fragrance is then sold under the name "BRUT Parfums Prestige" and this continues as a Unilever subsidiary.

My comment on BRUT now itself.
As a young guy at the end of the 1970s, the scent was something I didn't like at all. Somehow too pompous, overloaded with x undifinable components for me. At that time it slowly started with the start of many men's fragrances - pushed by the disco wave at that time. In short, BRUT was simply Bäääh!
At that time, people turned to other fragrances, such as things from Etienne Aigner, Bogart, Azzaro or Lagerfelds Classic, to name but a few. BRUT was quickly forgotten. And it stayed that way - until now in 2020!

By chance (as a small present!) I got a new original bottle, as it is apparently sold today.
A certain skepticism was present, because in the umpteenth brain drawer was still the scented memory from the 1970s stored.
One also experiences a certain change in smell over the decades. Fragrances or aromas that you used to like, you no longer like today, or only to a limited extent.

This is also the case with BRUT. At that time a kind of "no use", but today: oh, I like it!
Perhaps because there were certain recipe adjustments, i.e. original fragrance dominatrixes have been softened today, who knows?
The fact is that I like the fragrance very much, because it is no longer as oppressively present as it used to be, but rather more discreet - in other words, more subdued - it comes across. But I can't determine which component it is due to

All in all the Sillage is quite strong, depending on how much spraying you do. But the durability is remarkable, which can be described as strong if you spray for about eight hours.
In short, it remains in use by me!

MANHATTEN LIGHT - supposedly for women only?
Massimo Duti - as can be read, founded in 1985!

But it is not a fashion brand behind which a natural person stands or stood, as once Karl Lagerfeld, Yves St. Laurent or Óscar de la Renta, or today Joop.
No, Massimo Dutti is just the name of a fashion chain, such as C & A, Zara or H & M.
But just a little more elegant, both from the design the stores, as well as from the design of the clothes.

And this chain offers - 1991 of the fashion distribution giant Inditex taken over - also own perfumes. These can be bought in Spain sometimes also in perfumeries, but not in Germany.

Here one finds the perfumes only - and thus exclusively - in Massimo Dutti boutiques, which are opened for some time also in Germany like e.g. in Frankfurt/M., Mannheim or Baden-Baden, in order to call only some locations.

Earlier, that is until 2009, the fragrances of Massimo Dutti were produced and marketed by the Spanish perfume and fashion giant Puig.
Meanwhile, however, no longer - current manufacturer unknown.

But it can be assumed that the Spanish parent company INDITEX to which also ZARA and Bull & Bear, just like Massimo Dutti belong - and which all have their own perfume lines - these are now produced at its own perfume production site, but which is unknown.

And here now the comment on MANHATTEN LIGHT, the fragrance that I have not too long ago, acquired in Mannheim.

I had noticed the bottle especially because of the name - Manhatten Light!
Immediately I was enlightened by the employee of the Massimo Dutti boutique about the fact that on the left side of the perfume-diplay the women's fragrances would stand and separated by a small divider, right the men's fragrances.

After paper strip test sprays of various other fragrances of this Collection, I finally decided for yet for Manhatten Light. The biggest surprise for me was then the price.
Discounted by Corona VAT reduction, the price for this 100 ml eau de parfum was only just under € 49!

With great anticipation home unpacked the perfume. Particularly striking the high-quality packaging in the form of a white-colored sturdy cassette, so no dinky cardboard box with the usual "lid-on-mechanism". And as an additional feature, a high-quality small white cloth bag, where the bottle can be purely put, for example, when traveling, as a Separatschutz.

The fragrance itself opens with a subtle fresh bergamot note. In my opinion, it is a light, very fresh fragrance, which one can generally describe as floral-fresh. You have to use all your senses to recognize the fragrance components that are still to come. Massimo Dutti gives there not much price in the form of a fragrance pyramid, as is usus with most other perfume manufacturers.

After some time joins in broad form, the peony to it, which however does not remain alone, because as a socius a kind of vetiver is quite easily there. This whole then runs a little linear, until after some time, as the last component - also discreet - musk, rounds off the perfume final.
All in all, a very, very elegant-quiet fragrance composition whereby I do not understand why this eau de parfum is declared as a "women's fragrance" and not as a unisex fragrance, because for men - in my opinion - also perfectly suitable!

A perfume which has excellently passed in the outgoing extreme summer 2020, his fragrance trial by fire with me!

SUPPLEMENT of 16 October 2022

Unfortunately, it is so that I had to determine, during my recent visits to Mannheim and Baden-Baden, that the local boutiques of MASSIMO DUTTI, no longer exist.
May it be due to the Corona negative, or the not so high profile of this Spanish fashion chain, I can not say it ....

Azzaro's SENSUAL BLENDS COLLECTION - "Wild Mint"
Only discovered by chance on the AZZARO MUGLER Beauté website.

I then tried in xx different perfumeries to find and buy the fragrance.
No chance - at none was this perfume on the shelf. Even in the chains like DOUGLAS or MÜLLER not. He now for a few days - August 2020 - appear abundant offers on ebay at very moderate prices. Since I liked the fragrance from the name, curses a Sofortkauf transacted and two days later, the shipment was there with "Wild Mint"!
But before I began to enjoy the fragrance, I first dealt with the info label on the perfume box.

There to read "AZZARO Mfd. for CFG 92200 Neuilly-sur-Seine"! Aha! - Well, this perfume and its packaging were thus still produced under the direction of CLARINS FRAGRANCE GROUP (=CFG). So not yet under the new owner - the L'Oreal Group - which had bought both Azzaro Parfums as well as Mugler Parfums in October 2019, from Clarins!

And these "old stocks" are now apparently offered by commercial remaining stock online traders in the German ebay.

On the website of L'Oreal Germany, there is under the heading LUXURY PRODUCTS to date neither a brand entry of Azzaro nor of Mugler.
One may be curious when this happens.

To the fragrance WILD MINT, which is part of AZZARO's SENSUAL BLENDS COLLECTION, which consists of five men's perfumes.

Wild peppermint opens the fragrance round, which you can find very pleasant in this hot summer 2020.
After a few minutes also joins a light touch of patcholi, which is then again untersützt by another mint / eucalyptus tone.
This all becomes a very, very refreshing unobtrusive combination.

And as a surprise, I mean, after about an hour, also still the discreet, beneficial and rounding development of a vetiver - on my skin - to perceive.

All in all - for me - a fragrance, because I would buy again, if he is the finally in German perfumery shelves to find together with his other four colleagues of the SENSUAL BLENDS COLLECTION.

And here the question may also be asked whether it is this Azzaro men's fragrance collection, after the takeover of the Fragrance section of Clarins by L'Oreal , presented at all in Germany.

Addendum of 15 March 2023

The Azzaro series SENSUAL BLENDS COLLECTION was apparently discontinued.
Is no longer listed on the Azzaro website!
