(Lost) Innocence?
For two days now, I have been testing Lost Cherry, after I was able to purchase it at the Souk.
I had been really looking forward to it - due to the associations that Tom Ford evokes in me, the idea of a wicked-obscene cherry had taken root in my mind. Especially since Lost Cherry stands for lost innocence... there must be a bit of fire in it - right?!

Lost Cherry is, to my nose, above all one thing - Cherry. Lots of Cherry.
My father is from Greece, and back when my brother and I were children spending our entire summer vacations there, we drank the signature cherry juice from Amita by the liter. For those who can't imagine it... it leans heavily towards Capri Sonne Cherry. So, far from healthy fruit juice, rather a very heavy, sweet cherry water. Yes, in Greece we understand "sweet" differently - some might lose their teeth just from the thought of it :)

Now, when I smell Lost Cherry on myself, I can't help but think exactly of that. Super sweet cherry. Very "tasty," yes... somehow it makes you crave something sweet. I truly feel like one of those overly sugary cherry pastries from the bakery when I apply it.
I had the lovely idea that the scent would develop over time... the sweetness would fade a bit, and something else - (in)nocent - would emerge. But no... somewhat disappointed, I realize that the scent doesn't really develop at all. Yes, maybe a bit of almond flashes here and there.

An overall appetizing scent, but for me personally, considering the price and the brand, it's far too one-dimensional. I don't want to think anything bad, but somehow I caught myself thinking that the classic cherry teen EDTs from DM don't smell much less trivial.

What a shame, I had so hoped for the promised lost innocence. Instead, what remains is above all one thing - innocence.

Refreshing but by no means one-dimensional
One of those fragrances that makes you feel instantly fresh and fragrant, as if you just stepped out of the shower (even unshowered after a short night) - it has no particular depth, I associate it much more with a trivial-happy spring day. However, this does not make it boring at all - in fact, hardly any fragrance can create this feeling for me. Usually, these fresh-showered scents are too one-dimensional, too sweet, too fruity... this one is not. To my nose, it impresses with its complex simplicity (strange, but I can't define it any other way).
And when I've had a restless night at work - thanks to shift work - it's a true blessing to be able to spray a bit of fake well-restedness on body and soul with this scent.
By the way, I believe I'm not the only one who feels this way about Love Story. I remember a very late flight in the summer of this year, the flight attendant was wearing exactly this fragrance and exuded precisely the energy and confidence that one can use on night travels.
