Pure insanity. I love it.
Lisa Frank. Barbie: Fairytopia. The "California Gurls" music video.
If any of these aesthetics interest you, this perfume is something you need to try. There are candy perfumes out there, but this is on another level; this is more candy than actual candy is. It smells like how I imagine a fictional rainbow berry from a kid's cartoon might taste. This would be a perfect signature scent for somebody really into the 'decora' aesthetic. Seriously, look it up if you're not familiar, and you'll know everything you need to about this perfume. There's an exclamation point in the actual name, and let me tell you, it earns it.
My statement on this perfume was just my initial reaction after the first spray, but now that I've worn it out multiple times I can attest to the amazing longevity of this fragrance. It is a powerhouse that leaves me smelling like sour candy and sugared berries ALL day with one application.
It's over-the-top, hyper-feminine, and ultra sugary. I can totally understand that this is not the ideal experience for many people, but I adore it. It avoids being sickly sweet with that sour, tangy note from the berries, and there is a freshness and juiciness to it that prevents it from coming across as overly artificial even though I don't think you could reasonably call it 'natural'. But I really respect that the fluid not only lives up to the name and bottle, which is rare for Anna Sui, but actually is at risk of surpassing them in absurdity. Say what you will about this one, but it's incredibly unique and bold, on par with the titular designer's actual work.
Remember in like 2014 when galaxy tights were super trendy? Or when Starbucks had the unicorn frappe which was inescapable on Instagram for several months? This fragrance feels spiritually connected to those concepts somehow. Thankfully, it doesn't feel dated like those trends... it's somehow both y2k coded AND futuristic?
A juicy, fruity, sugar-rush fragrance that's a must have for any Harajuku girls, club kids, rave candy collectors, kindergarten teachers with cocaine addictions, or anyone who thinks 'subtle' is an insult.

Grew on me over time
This one always caught me off-guard. I expected it to be sweeter, or more clearly aquatic, based on it's appearance and was surprised by how clean and straightforward it was-- my initial thoughts were that it smelled a bit like classic aftershave, which is not a bad thing, but I didn't think it was really my taste. I've found a few occasions where it worked well, and I wore it to the beach and the aquarium once or twice just for the thematic relevance of the mermaid.
However, a recent experience helped warm me up to this one. I had a headache coming on and every fragrance in my collection was only going to make it worse-- some I tried, some I could just tell would exacerbate it knowing their scent profile. I own a lot of gourmands and anything sweet would've just been cloying with a headache like that. Florals and fruits sounded too aggressive to me at the time as well, but this was the only fragrance that not only didn't worsen my headache but soothed me a bit. It's fresh, subtle, but still lightly sweet. I appreciate its charm a bit better with that context.
Yes anybody with a headache should probably just not wear fragrance until it dissipates, I know that, but hey... we're here cause we're a little bit obsessed, aren't we?

I just can't get behind this one
I really wanted to like this perfume and I swear I gave it more than a few chances. But it always wears so boring and one-note on me; I'm not sure I would even know if it was strawberry if that wasn't supposed to be the main scent, because it lacks any of the freshness I would expect! It's not even especially sweet once it dries down.
It certainly doesn't smell bad but I either want a refreshing, juicy realistic strawberry or a gourmand, bright artificial strawberry candy... this is neither. It's sort of flat and powdery with decent longevity but absolutely nothing interesting to say. I'm sure it appeals to certain people, it doesn't smell *bad* of course, but I've worn it several times and still can't really make sense of it. Not for me!

A gentle floral for the teenage grandma in your life
Somewhere at the impossible crossroads of "grandma perfume" and "teen girl 00s body spray" lies this interesting fragrance from Anna Sui, a house known most for bottles that themselves showcase much more creativity than the fluid they hold within. Despite this reputation, I can't say I've ever smelled a perfume quite like Sui Love. But... I have smelled a LOT of perfumes that are KINDA like Sui Love.
That is to say, this fragrance relies on many cliched notes that give it a classic, powdery floral scent you've probably encountered many times. Yet that passionfruit gives it an unexpected fresh juiciness, and the nutmeg in the base brings a warm and lightly-spicy balance to the whole thing. On first spray it came off really strong and synthetic, but only a few minutes needed to pass for me to get the various white florals which were really brightened up by the fruity element.
It's a uniquely youthful interpretation of the tried and true department store rose-jasmine-tuberose formula that seems pretty ubiquitous by now. In my case, it's not quite creative enough to justify itself, but it can't be denied that the bottle is beautiful and feels plucked right out of my 2000s nostalgia dreams. Wouldn't mind seeing this one come back with a reformulation that gives the bottle something a bit more unique to hold.

Tropical fruits and creamy sweetness
I really like this charming and sweet scent, though I'll admit the bottle makes it stand out more than the actual fragrance inside. It's a nice balance of citrus-y fruit (it only lists orange but it has a bit of a pineapple vibe too) with almond and sugar, so it's not overly sweet... but then again, I love sweet perfumes so maybe my threshold is higher than others. It smells like a fruitier, less aggressively-vanilla version of
Sweet Tooth Eau de Parfum to my pedestrian nose. Personally I don't get much of the vodka or musk which I'm happy about because I've never thought vodka was something people enjoyed the smell of and, well, musk is everywhere.
If you already have a lot of fruity, sugary gourmands, then I doubt this is a very necessary addition, it's not outrageously unique. BUT, it is lovely for summer and a nice fresh-yet-creamy take on vanilla and marshmallow!
