In short it smells like ripe oranges squeezed to vetiver and pepper. Warm spices with the coolness of orange make a nice contrast. When I apply Terre I always think of a dessert with an orange tree, cracked soil, warm breeze, orange sky and vetiver plants around the tree. I am standing next to this tree when a ripe orange falls to the ground and breaks up, letting its orange juice pour into the cracks of the ground to mix with the vetiver roots. I love it.

One of my favourite vetivers and favourite Montales. This fresh combination of spices and vetiver seems to appeal me a lot! I just purchased a full bottle from this beauty. This scent is really relaxing, and sets my mind to a relaxing, confident state. This smells like a hay of dried vetiver roots splashed with Grapefruit and Black Pepper. I smell Elemi, Patchouli, Cedarwood too, which adds to the complexity of the scent. These notes stay in the background, never overpowering the vetiver/spice notes. Great longevity and sillage.

On a sidenote: I have and use both Terre d'Hermes and Montale's Vetyver. I admit they are similar, but if you "listen", you can smell the differences. Honestly I can recommend both.

A classic leather scent from Trumper. Spanish Leather opens with Patchouli and flowery notes of Rose and Geranium. In the background these notes are underlined with a considerable amount of musk. Overall it is a traditional, smooth patchouli/flowery leather with musk. In the drydown it becomes soapy (thus a little outdated for me). Not a "raw leather" type scent, more of an English Gentleman type to me. Longevity and sillage were good on my skin.

Godolphin opens with very intense flowery notes of Saffron, Thyme, Cypress toned down with some green notes, and with some added muskyness to the whole. The other things I notice after the heavy floral opening, are the Fruity notes with Vanilla, and some Amber. These together gave me the impression of leather. I have read some reviews(on other sites), which described this, as more of a floral scent than a leather one. For me it is clearly a leather scent, but not the "raw leather jacket" type of leather. For me it is sweet gourmand leather, with flowers. At later points I can feel some dry woodsyness to it also. It could be labeled as a unisex, maybe more on the feminine side. Give it a try if you like leather scents!

A rather linear (not a negative thing), yet beautiful blend of truly dark, somewhat medicinal aoud and sandalwood. Aoud lovers will almost certainly like this. I like it myself. I can imagine waring this in colder months of the year, and maybe at night, which in my opinion goes well with the dark mood the scent creates. I do not think Dark Aoud is feminine at all, but that does not mean ladies should not try... Longevity is great, projection is very good. Very interesting!
