Chloe Love Story is perhaps as generic as people say. But in Chloe’s defense, I remember shopping at the mall looking for an everyday fragrance and everything with a similar DNA was eaither too powdery, too sharp, or faded in 15 minutes. Love Story didn’t stand out on the list at first, but slowly I honed in on it as my favorite sample and would leave every trip to the mall smelling my wrist all the way home. It’s a basic feminine soapy neroli but done so so well, and it was all I wanted in my early 20s; something soft and steady. I can wear this in sweats or in an office, day or night, winter or summer. Tbh I should probably keep some backstock so I can confidently polish off my 2.5 oz bottle. I’m sure I could find a similar fragrance today but my heart just wouldn’t be in it.

I enjoyed my little decant of this that a friend gifted to me. It was a fruity shampoo smell, quite pretty, refreshing, and mild compared to the sultry marketing. I probably wouldn’t spend top dollar on this, but if I ever come across it on a good sale or a TJ Maxx find I’ll definitely grab it! However if you’re looking for something with distinctive notes or long lasting, I’d look elsewhere.
