A matter of perspective
If you're looking for something passionate, deep and sexy like the naming and bottle design suggest, Sì Passione will likely be a disappointment. But if you adjust your expectations and view it as a fruity-floral allrounder for casual use, it's actually quite good. At least to my nose. It's an easy reach, not a seductive, opulent perfume for special occasions.

Sì Passione starts out with sparkly blackcurrant and sweet pear. Both are juicy and fresh, but the currants turn deeper and syrupy after a while. Together with the rose and vanilla it recalls the DNA of the original Sì, but lighter and without the sharp patchouli. The opening made me think this would be a clean, shampoo-ish fragrance with lots of pear. I was surprised when it got warmer and more feminine after a short wait. A modern floriental bouquet with fruity accents. Now I wouldn't call it passionate, but definitely flirty. There is also something in this that gives me early 2000s Escada summer edition vibes, though I can't really explain what it is, as this is heavier than those ever were.

This exceeded my expectations. I anticipated it to be generic and boring, and yes, it's not the most innovative scent ever, but I find it really enjoyable.

Bright and Soapy
The descriptions of this smelling like shampoo are spot on. This smells like you’ve spent your extended lunch break having your hair washed with a rich, conditioning shampoo that is reminiscent of pears and summer fruits. You then had your hair blow dried, leaving it smelling warm and a little spicy from the pink pepper. Your hair is finished with a treatment oil with a slight floral and vanilla fragrance and a few spritz of powdery hair spray.

This is definitely a sweet floral perfume, but the background is a real clean and soapy scent that is more prevalent on the dry down. I personally love the soapiness and find it very comforting. Usually I’m not a fan of florals, particularly Jasmine, but it’s a beautiful blend of crisp fruits, soft florals and soapy, powdery goodness. I wear this when I want a confidence boost, and find it’s a great work scent. A grown up, quietly bold scent that is worn by your co-worker who has the best hair and always looks put together.

Sí Passione
Fresh and fruity opening.
Like most fashion house perfumes, Si Passione is blended beyond belief and the individual notes are impossible to determine.

I am in a lucky, but difficult situation. I have access to all the popular fragrances from brands like Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Chloé, Marc Jacobs and so on and so forth.
I have been sniffing around trying to find their appeal, but there is none. Not for me at least.

Si Passione Éclat was launched this year, and I felt like it would be a nice combination to try Si Passione first and then review Éclat, but alas, mainstream fragrances are just not for me.
How many times do I have to say this? I don't know, I guess I am searching for that one mass pleasing fragrance that will prove me wrong.
And believe me, I even stuck my nose down Chanel Coco Noir many a time and nothing!

Back to reviewing Si Passione, I cannot describe the fragrance to you in notes. I am best at describing fragrances through notes and visions that they give me, but fashion house fragrances, to me, are just a mix of sweet, fruity, woody or aromatic compounds.

My take on Si Passione is a sweet, lightly fruity, juvenile and probably easy to like fragrance. However, I usually like sweet and fruity, so what about Si Passione is so off? I honestly don't know, because the fragrance has been blended with a Nutribullet and no notes stand out.

I sprayed myself with Si Passione for a date with my boyfriend on his birthday, but the scent was not what I was looking for and washed it off before leaving and wore my trusty Coffee Break by Maison Margiela instead.

Needless to say, I revisited Si Passione for a proper review and take on it, but it is a no for me. Let's see if Éclat stands a chance.

Sexy Date Night
After I smelled this, I imagined I was a young girl going out on a date with a boy a little too old for me. I dressed extra sexy to cover up my innocence. A sweet, sensual ingenue who is not aware of her sexual prowess. I really like it, it's good for a date but it only lasts for a couple of hours. The pear is overwhelming in a good way.

Maybe there is hope again...
Here is the new Armani Si! Some may like the fragrance line, some hate it,… I, on the other hand… well, I only know the rather average, normal Si (the EDP 2013), so I can't say much about it yet.
I recently got a sample of this fragrance, so I could try it without making a fool of myself in a women's department and having to run away :D

The bottle looks quite appealing! But still, I have no high expectations… because lately (well, actually for about a year now) I've been rather disappointed with Armani, as almost every new fragrance or flanker they released has been really bad, as they seem to be relying too heavily on synthetic notes. I mean, sure, Armani has mostly been a mainstream brand and their fragrances have always had a noticeable synthetic quality, but most of them were still well-crafted scents where the synthetics were part of it without being truly bothersome. However, their newer fragrances have taken this synthetic aspect to the extreme, which, in my opinion, has severely affected the quality of the scents, making them smell cheap. At least that's my opinion…

Examples? Well…
“Acqua di Giò!” For years a great fragrance line, until the new Absolu came out, a totally synthetic, bland scent that couldn't even come close to matching the others in the line. “Armani Code Colonia,”… just as bad and no comparison to the other Codes! I don't even want to start on fragrances like “Stronger with You!” or “Because of You!” I find this development from Armani, focusing so much on noticeable synthetic notes, really bad, as the fragrances come across as “quickly mixed together” just to release something new every year. Sure, Armani has always had synthetics in their fragrances, but never before has it bothered me as much as it does now. Well... at least I liked the previous flankers or fragrances much better!

So I really hope that this Si here at least smells somewhat good… because the first look at the bottle gives hope, as it shines sexy red like a lady's lipstick, ah… I really should stop getting so excited in front of you girls… :D

The scent:
The fragrance starts with a peppery pear, which might sound disgusting (*yuck* :D), but olfactorily it actually doesn't smell bad. The thing is, a considerable amount of synthetic notes makes the scent unfortunately seem a bit cheaper right from the start. Luckily, this is just the first impression and it doesn't hold the whole time. Anyway, the pepper quickly weakens, and the fragrance becomes fruitier and noticeably sweeter. The blackcurrants quickly overtake the pear in terms of the intensity of the fruity notes, the sweetness comes from the jasmine, and the slightly powdery note, which is also slowly emerging, could be from the vanilla. Over time, the synthetic notes fade a bit and are much less bothersome than at the beginning, but they still come through every now and then.
Later, the fruity notes become weaker, and for the most part, you smell sweet notes, including the jasmine, but now also heliotrope (which by the way also has a slightly almondy scent,… but only if you smell directly at the sprayed spot; in the scent cloud, the heliotrope probably won't be noticeable). A little later, vanilla joins in, which, as always, fades last after a longer time on the skin. The synthetic notes are significantly weaker in the base, but still present the whole time; they are not good, but at least they are overall less bothersome again.

The sillage and longevity:
The projection is quite good and at the beginning even slightly room-filling. Later, the sillage does decrease a bit, but I think that for a short while the scent will be pleasant to smell. After four to five hours, however, it becomes noticeably weaker.
The fragrance lasts about eight hours. That's okay.

The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular, but the upper part is rounded or curved upwards. The neck consists of a gold-plated ring, on which sits the shiny black and very distinctive cap for the Si fragrances. The inside of the bottle is made of red-tinted glass (similar to Narciso Rouge), and you can see the fragrance name in gold lettering on the front. A very beautiful bottle.

So…
Si Passione also has this disturbing factor, that is, the synthetic notes I mentioned at the beginning. However, fortunately, this is not as pronounced here, so the fragrance lands in the above-average range, which one could definitely test and some might actually find appealing. Si probably belongs to the fragrances that some will like very much, while others can't stand it.

For the day, I find it a bit too sweet, but it fits very well for going out, especially for partying. And yes, now and then this fragrance could also make a lady or a girl smell delicious, sweet, and nice; you know how I always mean that :D
While many other fragrances perform much better, this one is still nice :)

I hope that Armani's future fragrances will rely less on synthetics, at least less on the kind of synthetics that make a fragrance smell like a low-quality cheap scent from the drugstore. And the new Si is already a good start, as I find it quite nice. Not super great and still needing a lot of improvement, but as I said, nice!

And for anyone who has nothing better to do today, you can count how many times I used the word “synthetic” in this comment, oh dear… :DD

Sweetened with pear in syrup, flavored with pink pepper, lightly powdered with heliotrope and on a woody vanilla base.

Fruity, sweet, woody, vanilla. Lovely and not your usual fruity scent, there is something more. Love it.

The peppery touch and the sweetness of vanilla embrace the gourmand blackcurrant. A very good mix. Particular and glamourous the bottle

Smells like a tart but sweet floral pineapple soap perfume. It’s so good. I’m surprised pineapple isn’t in the notes.

I loved it when I smelled it from the bottle, but I was disappointed when I brought her home. Poor longevity too. Smells like cosmetics.

Pedestrian fruit cocktail. I like it on my skin, but gets musty on clothes and fabric.

A close friend bought it at Sephora, and I understand why. A subtle fruity floral that is usable in an office.

Nothing great, except for the bottle! No longevity or sillage to speak of, even for a parfum. Sad.
