What is your favorite creamy Sandalwood fragrance?
if you like sandalwood you may also try gaiac wood fragrances as they have a similar profile, e.g.:
Definitely have a look at https://www.parfumo.com/Perfum...
Bois d'Argent would be my favorite woody fragrance because it has a really creamy feel. It reminds me of body lotion. Interestingly enough, I first stumbled across it, because it was mentioned in a Shindy song (German hip-hop artist).
German: "Das ganze Zimmer riecht nach Geld dank mei'm Bois d'Argent"
English: "The whole room smells like money thanks to my Bois d'Argent"
- Shindy, Raffaello (2019)
Samsara Eau de Parfum to me is very creamy and (sandal)woody. Some find it powdery as well, but I find it more creamy. Older versions were a bit 'thicker' on the sandalwood I think (maybe one could say: 'it used to be a cream and now it is a lotion'), but this latest version, I find just perfect!
Any iteration of Chanel Bois des Îles Eau de Toilette (but especially the vintage EDT or parfum) is my favorite before all others. After that I agree I'd say any iteration of Guerlain Samsara Eau de Parfum, then Tom Ford Soleil de Feu, then Serge Lutens Santal de Mysore.
Let's be real though, in case it's not obvious from what I've ranked above: the sandalwood material I love most (besides natural sandalwood) is Sandalore with Sandalore Polysantol mixes in coming second.
Let's see if I can link these correctly!!
Absolute favorite (and my favorite Orris)
Also love the 2 fan favorites:
"Collection Extraordinaire - Santal Blanc | Van Cleef & Arpels"
"Notes de Fond - Santal-Basmati | Affinessence"
And Sandalwood isn't the main focus but love it in these too:
