Iris on wood?

Iris on wood? 3

Maybe you all think I'm getting crazy but...I coincidentally discovered my beloved Infusion d'Iris (2015) Eau de Parfum projects and lasts forever on.....wood!!

I had spilled some drops when spraying the perfume on my wooden desk some time ago and everytime since then, when I sit at my desk, I smell this lovely scent that I unfortunately hardly smell on myself or on clothes when I wear it (and which is very frustrating).

So I sprayed some on a wooden clothespin, pinned it on my sweater and...yes: I keep getting the smell so clearly now!

So I will buy some wooden bracelets and see if I can enjoy the scent better and longer by spraying it on those bracelets.

And because most Iris scents are rated very low where it concerns the sillage, I thought I might share it with the community here.

And maybe someone with a lot of knowledge about perfumes can explain why- or confirm that Iris clings to wood (or tell me I'm getting nuts indeed 😃?)

Oh, wow, thanks for the heads up! I like both this and Hiris but hate spending money exactly because of the low projection. Will try this.

Same here and it's why I love L'Air du Temps Eau de Parfum it is a different perfume, but I love it for the same reason: those enchanting wafts of slightly sweet, tingeling, clean spring- and summer breezes. And it projects and lasts!

Will get the wooden bracelets soon and update on the effect where it concerns Infusion d'Iris Smile

@Raluko111, haven't had the time yet to search for a wooden bracelet, but...Have you ever tried Fleur de Peau Eau de Parfum ? I just bought it and it lasts and projects (without loosing that eathereal, angelic vibe of Iris). It really fills the gap I felt when feeling so sad that my Infusion d'Iris didn't perform as I would like. This ticks all of my boxes when it comes to a beautyful Iris-scent.

I highly recommend to - at least - try it...

Thank you @Ringtale, I really appreciate this. So far, a couple of iris perfumes that check all the boxes for me are Iris de Syracuse, Iris Poudre and L'Iris. But I'm looking forward to trying your suggestions as well..Added it to my Watch List now.

Hi @Raluko111, You're welcome and your suggestions sound interesting too, thanks! Put those on mine (wishlist) Smile. Do they last and project? I find the ratings here for sillage and longevity very confusing sometimes and sometimes they keep me from trying a scent. Like with Fleur de Peau, the low ratings for performance kept me from sampling it for a long time, but it turns out to be very longlasting (still smelled it this morning when waking up) and it projects in a 'huggy' kind of way Smile.

My pleasure! My suggestions are all perfumes that I own and samples I have played with. They last and project well on my skin, and even better on clothes. I do find some reviews, ratings and suggestions on this site to be kind of misleading. It could be that it`s still a growing site, or people with different skin pH, or maybe some people are new at this and just spray a scent and immediately review. I don`t know, but I tend to take some reviews (statements especially) with a huge grain of salt.

Thanks @Raluko111 And yes, that could be an explanation for those confusing ratings and such.

Have a nice day!
