If you could have your own perfume/cologne ?
by Flaconneur | Perfumes & Brands
...I would base my perfume concept on memories. It still amazes me how the sense of smell can triggers long forgotten inanimate objects and places. Many of those memory types can be shared experiences between many different people. It might be fun to try and create a common ground.

...So, in this case Jubliant, what I was saying previously applies. The sale associate can influence the customer.

Idole de Lubin ??? Idole de Lubin (Eau de Toilette) - Lubin
by Flaconneur | Perfumes & Brands
...You are right on two accounts CyberToy1. First, Idole and Idole de Lubin are very simular. For me, the EdT was more interesting. Second, the EdT did have better longevity. Finally, we agree on something.

...Perfume addict? Perhaps. Rich? Definitely not but I am economical and don't see any reason to throw good money at bad perfume.

Idole de Lubin ??? Idole de Lubin (Eau de Toilette) - Lubin
by Flaconneur | Perfumes & Brands
...Here's the scoop as I know it. Idole by Lubin is a unisex fragrance, that leans slightly masculine and is sold in EdT strength. Idole de Lubin by Lubin is a straight-up unisex fragrance that is EdP strength and a relatively new release. I have sampled both and ended up preferring Idole by Lubin EdT.

Cultural influence on perfume taste
by Flaconneur | Perfumes & Brands
...Many people that have no previous experience with quality perfumes, steer clear of some niche fragrances. They might be too dirty smelling for their clean and fresh concept. Many Americans I know follow modern fashion trends and purchase designer fragrances. These fragrances are within their budgets, where niche fragrances are not. It's too bad because the niche fragrances are much more interesting, in my opinion.

So many great vetivers... Vétiver de Frédéric - Frédéric Haldimann
...I own a 2010 release of "Vetiver" by Guerlain. It does not have the same boldness and smoky tobacco that the original did. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the reformulation, and besides, I got the bottle at an extremely good price. Do I wear this fragrances often, no. I find the formulation a bit dull and the void of vigor and vitality that the original formula had.As per Apicius's suggestions, I will have to sample the "Vetiver Extreme" by Guerlain.

Cultural influence on perfume taste
by Flaconneur | Perfumes & Brands
...Your theory is sometimes true, Sherapop. As I was trying to state earlier, people are very influenced by popular culture. They are even influenced by the sales associate behind the counter pushing that popular culture. You would think that fragrances would be a highly personal purchase but people can be so easily swayed.
