After I made an initial order of eight samples (which came with one bonus), I liked them so much I placed another order for eleven samples, which came with two bonus scents! I’ve now sprayed Tome, one of the bonuses, on—the glue note is crazy, but the rest of the scent can support it! Yeah I just read your review. It seems I have a lot more of pineward to test.

An initial fresh mushroom shock followed by gorgeous roses, woods, incense, and… really lovely dried mushrooms! Friggin awesome is right. Smelling like a mushroom has never been more desirable. Nice! ... +1 on the "Spirito | Meo Fusciuni" ! Or "Fierce (Cologne) | Abercrombie & Fitch" if you’re on a tight budget. I still like "Layton | Parfums de Marly" as well, are you familiar with that one? Quite expensive though. Then you might also want to give a try on "40 Knots | Xerjoff"

... Weird stuff in perfume, like gold flakes or glitter floating around, is usually a red flag for me. Like in "Lune Féline (Eau de Parfum) | Atelier des Ors" I do like it though, but nothing breathtaking or transcending indeed.

... Yeah it’s wild how people’s tastes can differ. There are lots of greatly hyped perfumes I do like though. But I for one can’t really get into these: "Interlude Man | Amouage" I just can’t get over that oregano or whatever pizza herbs are in there. "Erba Pura | Xerjoff" Synthetic mishmash "Tuxedo | Yves Saint Laurent" so loud and screechy, totally hated that

... Who’s this Luca Turin guy I keep hearing about? Is that some hot shot reviewer or something? Good topic, this. I noticed that the smell of perfume is like nothing else so influenceable by outside factors. Your own taste, how it’s marketed, how it’s perceived by others all play a role. I might say that I like a certain fragrance but when it gets canned by the community I start to question myself. A good example is perhaps "Ganymede (Eau de Parfum) | Marc-Antoine Barrois" which I quite liked in the beginning. But it got slammed and honestly I don’t like it anymore myself either. I can’t even help it.

... Agree with @Seltzerpapi on this one, patchouli can be wildly different depending on the blend, the quality, the type. IMO it can be the most disgusting ingredient in a perfume but can be the most beautiful thing as well.

... If I have to squeeze one negative thing out, then it’s probably the complaining about IFRA all the time. They exist with a good cause, but a lot of people seem to think they’re out to get us and make our lives miserable or something. But generally I really love the community! Lots of very generous and lovely people, fun to talk with 👍
