A Giant Grapefruit...
I am really indifferent to this one. The grapefruit note overpowers everything else on my skin. I like grapefruit, but am not a fan of it as a dominant note... Longevity is pretty good, and sillage is average. Pretty much an average scent that is not bad, but so forgettable like many others. Not recommended, unless you find it super-inexpensive, and love smelling like a giant grapefruit. 2.5 to 3 stars out of 5.

My signature scent back in the days
The first ever fragrance that blew my mind, how could anything smell so good!?

This is a nice and classic scent that is refreshing and calming. You have tea and musk in the notes which is blended perfectly. I still own a bottle and get compliments now and then.

Definitely a must own for any serious fragrance collector!

90's Business Vibe
I dunno but the first time I smelled this, I got a 90's formal business man in a suit on a bright early morning.

He could also be in Finance, Accounting or a Mathematics lecturer.

This scent has a very potent green tea mixed with some grapefruit which makes the opening very intense and green.

As the scent develops, I get an oakmoss accord similar to the one present in Azzaro Chrome EDT and Creed Aventus.

I was hoping that it wouldn't turn into CREED Aventus because I wasn't a fan of it surprisingly, but as I continued wearing this scent, it grew on me and I liked it (although I almost returned it).

If you love 90's scents like Silver Mountain Water, Chrome by Azzaro EDT and the likes with a dash of green tea, you will most definitely enjoy this.

I could tell that this was Jacques Cavalier's style as Pacific Chill has a slight resemblance to this for a few minutes. I actually wore the two scents together and I really enjoyed.

I would love to try it out with Silver Mountain Water next.

Pleasant freshness without "extremes" ... I prefer to stay with the original!
Shortly after its release, I received "Bulgari pour Homme" in the normal version as a gift from my girlfriend at the time. It was my first encounter with the brand at all. To this day, I practically always have a bottle of this fragrance in my closet, because it has a unique fresh aura in my nose. At the time, I didn't think about the individual ingredients, but I think tea, flowers and (especially) musk, along with citrus notes, work together to give the original its distinctive character, which I find extremely pleasing. Unfortunately, "Bulgari pour Homme" suffers from a rather weak durability and sillage.

Clearly that one leads sometime also the "extreme" brother to mind, in the hope that this shortcoming would be eliminated. But this is only conditionally so. Extreme is here first of all nothing. The Flanker was simply trimmed to a longer shelf life, which is quite noticeable. But the incomparable freshness of the original is lost a bit. Far higher citrus, wood and spice shares make BPHE a much more ordinary fresh scent, although I would have expected otherwise.

Thus, the original in the top and base notes is lost to my regret, although one can certainly still speak of a flanker, which also deserves this name due to the similar DNA. However, the difference between the two Bulgari "men" makes itself much more noticeable on my skin than on the test strip, on which both fragrances differed for me rather marginally.

No question that with BPHE we are still dealing with a very nice and clean fresh scent (you do not need the umpteenth "Acva" version), but which lacks the uniqueness of the original. Wood and spices make for a slightly longer lasting scent, while the sillage remains more or less skin deep. If you have the one, you need in any case not also the other

I miss you
After years of reading along and gathering impressions, I finally got around to philosophizing about one of my absolute favourites. Unfortunately for a sad reason, as the last endangered specimens will soon be gone and will only be available at horrendous prices. Out of sheer nostalgia, I have nevertheless decided to pay this price. However, I am not yet convinced that it was a good decision.
The whole thing came about because I took a now 15-year-old bottle out of my display cabinet after it had gathered dust, thinking: "Hm, that used to be really cool.".
And amazingly, it still is! How could I have let it get so neglected? In the first hour, you can really tell how old it is, but then it completely fades away and this fragrance is just terrific. Unfortunately, there's now only one sip left, which isn't really a bad thing as I now have a replacement. And now the sobering part: the new fragrance simply doesn't come close to my old wine. I don't know whether it's the age or whether the composition is different, but the difference is clear. With my old bottle, the whole cupboard smells of it, mainly probably because it's there without a lid. But the spray head smells so strong, which is definitely not the case with the new bottle. So maybe it's a story like with Aventus, where many people also think that earlier batches were much better. Because I also have the feeling that there are differences in durability and sillage between the two. I would love to invite every fragrance lover to take a nose of my precious drop and I am convinced that there would only be positive feedback. So if you live in Berlin, you are welcome to take a sniff.
And I don't share the opinion that the Bvlgari Pour Homme EdT, which is still available, smells similar enough. There is another fragrance that is very similar to this one, but unfortunately its longevity and sillage are ridiculous.
I can only hope that this milestone in the world of fragrances will one day be brought back to life as it once was, and who knows, perhaps the overpriced brother will one day mature into a man like the older sibling.

Interesting tea and grapefruit scent that goes from a sharp metallic opening to a woody herbal drydown. Do not overspray.

Nice and classic 90s scent. Calming, fresh and leafy. The tea and musk are key in this one. Cavallier made some of the best freshies. Great!
