Oriental rum bomb
Right at the start, rum and tuberose race head to head. A hammersill layer that lasts for about 2-3 hours. Then it gets weaker and closer to the skin, but still better than some or many other fragrances. Oriental, masculine, heavy, spicy and actually not sweet I would describe this fragrance. I would emphasize the rum as the dominant note, but it is never intrusive.

The scent is very noticeable and you should be careful with the dosage. Maybe apply only two or three sprays during the first "external test" to see how the scent develops on your own skin. As I said, it was quite violent for me in the first two to three hours, and I only had one sprayer on my forearm. After that the Sillage collapses a little and you have to get closer with your nose. However, I don't yet have the feeling that I will have to do more - the performance is still sufficient.

It is a really very pleasant, great fragrance, which is perhaps a little loud in the first minutes, but then it swings in nicely and remains for a few hours a quite conspicuous, unusual, oriental companion. You don't smell it very often, at least not here in Vienna, and that's exactly how it should be, something special :-). The ladies like him on the man - I could notice that too. I wouldn't necessarily wear it in the office because it's too unusual, but I'd rather wear it in the evening, on dates or events, etc..

By the way, the bottle is a Schas, as they say here in Vienna. You can lock the spray head by turning it 90°, but that's quite a problem with my specimen at least, and I thought I broke it. After turning back and forth a bit, it worked again, but the hook is still doing it. Well, I'd rather leave the locking mechanism, otherwise it'll be really broken soon. Cheap plastic and not worthy of the quality of the fragrance. This concerns only the upper part of the flacon, the rest is of course glass and ok. What might still bother me is the opacity of the bottle, where you can't see how much is still inside.

Oriental and modern ? Bvlgari make it possible !
Yes, I gave this fragrance top marks, not without reason A modern and oriental fragrance, very well combined, simply brilliant.
It has a very spicy, strong and intense aroma from the start. Wonderful, I'm very pleased A bouquet of the finest roses is added in the middle section. Lovely. Can it get any better? Yes!!! Finally, Ouf comes on top. This oud smells neither artificial nor cheap. I'm in love. ?????.
Bvlgari has become a top manufacturer.
Men in Black is already a great scent, Black Orient takes it to the next level. Way to go.
Could easily be a non-scent It all sounds a bit gushy, I know, but I also like it because it is 100% my taste.

With kind regards

Composition with low expressiveness
At that time I had already written a short commentary and would like to make it more detailed and differently hung up now. Hanging it differently, because I was allowed to test much more perfumes and therefore my perceptions changed. We all know this; our beloved first fragrance is suddenly not so wonderful anymore, if you have smelled something different. At the time I said that this is one of the few creations by Alberto that really succeeded. Also the only sensible man. I would like to change both to a yes and no
The rum at the beginning is not very sweet, the cardamom helps to give it a spicy, fresh flavor. Unfortunately this harmonizes little with the rum, at least at the beginning. The two top notes can't come to terms and then the tuberose and rose burst in prematurely in my eyes. The result is confusing and not at all beautiful. This impression remains for at least 1-1.5 hours.
Only then does the cardamom retreat and the two flowers become temperate. I'm not an expert on roses and tuberoses and I have to speculate here: for me, the beginning smells like the rose is pressing forward; it is powering out and then it says goodbye. The rum remains as a volatile substance and the warm, sweet and lovely tuberose gives the middle part a dimly seductive aura. After that, there is only the end of a perfume that becomes more and more volatile.

Leather and oud as a basis, well, with a lot of goodwill there is something that illusory leather, a kind of new shoe/bag leather. Oud? Uh... yes... oud so... I don't know if Bvlgari mistyped it? Or wanted to create the enhancement of defused oud for western noses? Quasi non-existent oud for the top 100 sensitive European noses?

Nevertheless, this is the best Bvlgari Man for me. I scissor all over one comb because I was allowed to test four more extensively. It's like the Aqva series, as if you only want to create one positive outlier. The others are even more loveless, predictable and boring in my eyes. In this respect, Black Orient is the one-eyed among the blind, if you like. Partly it smells wonderful, partly you have to like roses and the like.

Would I put on that perfume again? No, I can't wear it, it's too smooth

A Middle Eastern Italian in Black
Before the launching of Man in Black Oriental, Bvlgari had an feminine Oud perfume (Lazulia), and a unisex one (Eau Parfumée au Thé Noir). The designer missed an offer for men. Boss, Versace, Ralph Lauren, YSL, Gucci and many other designers already had a successeful offer in that range.
2017 saw the birth of what seems to be another acomplished Bvlgari perfume, with an Oud flanker of Bvlgari Man in Black. The fragrance type is not in the comfort zone of master Alberto Morillas, but he pulled out another winner. Let's have a look at this Bvlgari oriental gem:
- A wonderfull looking bottle with an alluring Oud Leather fragrance!
I love this type of scent. It's a cold weather fragrance. Don't wear it during a summer hot day unless you enjoy to have all the living creatures running to be miles away from you!
- It's smooth, well blended and with an harmonious evolution !
- Attracts compliments from oriental fragrance lovers!
The Rum / Cardamom opening is quite great and the DNA of Man in Black is detectable. The introduction of Taif Rose along with Tuberose does team up quite well with the Oud and Leather base notes. This perfume does have a loud projection, so one must be calm with the sprayer. Its sillage peaks at 6+ feet till the end of the 3d hour. The dry down has a generous sillage still, and do expect to have a usable skin scent till the 10th hour. It does have an above average performance on skin and performs even better on clothes!
- Does not smell cheap or synthetic!
It really smells classy and the fragrance ingredients are of top quality for sure.
- Bvlgary marketeers did a good image job and took advantage of the Man in Black hype to promote this fragrance!
It's somewhat different from Man in Black. It does have a vibe from the original perfume but the Taif Rose and the strong Oud / Leather notes do make it somewhat different.
- I consider this fragrance and Man in Black to be in my top list!
- Price is still more expensive than Bvlgary Man in Black. It will go down for sure in the future.

My rates for Bvlgary Man Black Orient:

The Fallen Black Knight
This is a fragrance that -in my opinion- improves everything good about Man in Black - the famous previous flanker - and solves all its weak points, taking the original olfactory idea to its maximum artistic expression - without leaving its series, of course -:

- Creamier, more mysterious, more refined… better blended, better performance, better sillage... If you like MiB, it's hard not to like this one; it also dispels that inconvenient “drunken scoundrel” reminiscence of the first:

Black Orient replaces MiB's tobacco with cardamom, orris with Taif rose and benzoin with oud, creating a fantastic olfactory composition albeit a little darker, more enigmatic and elegant.

Unfortunately it wasn’t cheered on YouTube as happened to its sister who became the bet of the brand, discarding the rest of similar iterations.

If you like MiB and you can get this, you shouldn't hesitate, although I don't advise paying collector's prices either.

So I see the shelf with the fragrance bottles and I reach out and pick up the black bottle crowned with gold, knowing that with each new breath, it draws closer to its dark destiny…

Rum, leather, oud and a bit of rose. What seamed to be a great perfume by its specs, is a great scent. Congrats to Bvlgari and Morillas.

Very dry, ashy and synthetic cardamom-woods that last forever. Bit one-dimensional after that sweet opening tho, so a decent layering piece.

Not for everyone. Unique 'cause not everybody uses this scent as a perfume. But not unique 'cause it smells like a candle or incense store.
