Close, but no cigar!

Yet another unremarkable dupe for Jo Malone's Myrrh & Tonka. The same resinous, sweet, woody vibes landing on a heavy bed of tonka beans predominate here as well. I don't know, it's nice, but I prefer Jo Malone's interpretation or Dusita's Moonlight in Chiang Mai to Amber Cello any day. This is supposed to be a brand-new house that creates perfumes inspired by music, so I find it kind of disappointing that they're just imitating stuff that's already out there, but in a more mediocre way with a more pompous label.

Amber evening sun

For me, a beautiful myrrh amber fragrance whose warmth contrasts so beautifully with the fresh bergamot. I immediately fell in love with the fragrance. It has a classic feel, it doesn't want to be anything other than an amber fragrance, it doesn't try to attract attention with anything loud or special, but it has an effect due to its resting class.
Although perhaps anti-intuitive for many, I enjoyed wearing it in the evening on vacation. For me, this amber warmth goes so well with the evening sun, which is still warming and glowing amber, but also already carries the seriousness and darkness of the evening/night.

Original idea

It is a very beautiful fragrance: resinous, balsamic, warm, but not too warm. The woody notes blend extremely well with the fruity notes, making it appear very balanced.
For me, this is the perfect fragrance for the evening.
However, after a while it becomes a little masculine for me, which bothers me.

Recently at the concert

I had to test the fragrance just because of the name.
I regularly play concerts with piano and cello... And this fragrance is simply the concert situation.
The scent of wood, perfume, excitement, warm spotlights.

It is warm and cozy due to the balsamic notes.

The myrrh adds something spicy and the bergamot adds a little freshness so that it doesn't get too dark.
The fragrance smells like a warm brown. Just like a cello.

When I imagine a perfect concert fragrance, I find some notes here again.
The durability on my skin is medium. But enough for a concert evening.

I recommend it. If you have a reference - then it brings back fond memories.

Happiness behind the cowshed

First of all: I approached this fragrance with high expectations, which may have influenced my disappointment.
Until this fragrance develops into the beauty that it basically is, you unfortunately have to fight your way through a cowshed. You could almost suspect that oud has been secretly mixed in here, but even that has never come under my nose in such a stinky version.
So you're all the more delighted when the fragrance you've been looking forward to is finally revealed.
As soon as you have fought your way through the penetrating scent, which can take up to 3 hours, you notice a wonderfully warm, pleasantly resinous-balsamic fragrance. This also fits the theme well, in my opinion. The resinous-woody scent is very reminiscent of the fragrance that escapes very easily from the sound holes of the cello body and is almost only perceptible when you are actually close to the instrument. For me, this also reflects the intensity of the fragrance. Here, nothing radiates far and remains discreet and polite.
So if you don't have to go through the experience of the cowshed, you will find a pleasant fragrance here.
