The old Cašmir extrait had it all:
Dirty vanilla, juicy plump sweet peach with amber notes from Animalik, which is, however, kept discreet. There should be a little dab of castoreum.
Cašmir as an extrait embodies "sexuality" and seduction like no other fragrance. Those who are prudish or repressed should read no further.
If you take this magic out of the red outer packaging and scent yourself with it, you can indeed believe and think you are more special than some women who fill themselves up with Black Opium or La Vie Est Belle.
This fragrance had radiance, warmth, sillage and seduction! Sugar crystals, vanilla, peach and animalic is what you get and that in the double-digit range. Only niche fragrances can achieve something like this today.
I have many dates to thank for this extrait, many drinks: "You smell simply divine", you must be desired with this fragrance". I often heard sayings like that back in the 90s.
I had the Hollywood Barbie back then (I've always loved collecting dolls) and she smelled a lot like Cašmir, or was it her hair or the little perfume that came with the doll? I'm not sure anymore, but it was this vanilla that smelled like Cašmir, firmly etched in my memory.
A bit sweet, the old Cašmir reminds me of Gaultier's Vintage Classique but with a slight nuance.
