..and all the office ladies had to urgently keep their "half past one" appointments - welcome to the 90s! I confess, I LOVE 90s fragrances, especially the whole lineup from Calvin Klein, Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren. Unisex was all the rage, the scents were wonderfully unsweet, slightly sporty, mostly citrusy with a subtle floral-green or aquatic touch. Some of my all-time favorites are from this era; they are suitable for everyday and office wear, they don't annoy anyone excessively, and they don’t obliterate fellow humans or houseplants when you walk by. Even if you overapply a bit, you can still tolerate them in an elevator.
Sophia Grojsman is also the creator of
Eternity Eau de Parfum, and you can't get more 90s than
CK One Eau de Toilette - both have been a staple in my collection for over 25 years, which is why I immediately perked up at
360° for Women Eau de Toilette - no idea why I hadn't noticed it before.
One could beautifully ponder how blue and red or pink roses smell differently - or one could just leave it at that, because I don't detect any rose in the top notes or even later! If you're worried about the listed melon - don't worry, it's non-existent! 360° is a lot, but thankfully fruity-sweet is not part of the fragrance profile.
The scent starts fresh and citrusy, soft and without any sharpness, and then quickly becomes green-white. The combination of very subtle lily of the valley, sage, and green notes was also used by Sophie in
Eternity Eau de Parfum and well, there's no need to reinvent the wheel or ruin what works. In the 90s, lily of the valley and jasmine were used much more as a white accord rather than as soloists, which has the advantage of reducing the risk of headaches. It simply adds up to a fresh creamy scent. Towards the end, I see a second-degree relationship with the significantly younger
Beauty Eau de Parfum. I'm not a fan of vanilla at all - here it thankfully doesn't come through distinctly but remains in the cozy musk-wood base. Vetiver keeps the sometimes annoying and somewhat attention-seeking sandalwood in check, good teamwork!
The scent is feminine but office-tough, not playful but straightforward (the bottle fits this very well!), more of a DIY woman than a fake-nail diva.
360° lasts on me effortlessly for 3-4 hours, after which it remains perceptible like a delicate body lotion. The price/quality ratio is sensational! I will be getting it as an office scent sooner rather than later (more likely sooner).
