Rustic Pear
A clunky and loud macho with huge projection and quite remarkable longevity, but unfortunately without any elegance. It drones on like a pneumatic horn at Millerntor, which, combined with a latent sweetness, makes it a late representative of the not-so-subtle aromatic fougères of the eighties, foremost among them "Azzaro Pour Homme".

The fragrance notes circulating online vary greatly, but everyone agrees on the pear. Pear - a rather problematic scent companion, considering that this sticky little fruit has even maneuvered a traditional house like Acqua Di Genova close to the abyss (which allows me to skip the comment on "Silver", one of the most stomach-turning colognes ever).

Seemingly inspired by the utterly questionable pricing of a confirmation water like "Fierce", "Portfolio" is sometimes offered here at proud import prices, even though it ranks in the bargain bin category in the USA (100 ml approx. 18 euros). It smells just as inexpensive. The brushed metal of the flask-shaped bottle and its plastic/chrome initials, even protected by a film, do not help at all. The extremely miserable sprayer is much more honest. Disappointing!

Exemplary
I brought Portfolio back from the USA a few years ago for a couple of dollars. It's a sparkling, slightly metallic scent that develops a wonderful but also slightly synthetic aroma. I prefer to wear P in spring and summer, as its cooling and refreshing properties are at their best then. The base is woody, with cedarwood making the most music for me. There's hardly any presence of amber and musk; they play quietly in the background. For its price, Portfolio is an absolute top perfume, not an overpriced gimmick.

Sammy :-)

Evolves amazingly well—green to blue: Starts off green with a hint of citrus but turns aquatic within 30 mins. (From a vintage bottle)
