Red-green color vision deficiency
Spring is coming and I'm in the mood for green scents. I like them anyway, but especially in spring. So this little bottle, which has been waiting to be tested for days, is just what I need. The liquid is bright green and the name says it's a mysterious garden, which should fit! So I sprayed it on my skin, waved it around and smelled it: sweet, very sweet even.
Hmm. There are also sweet green fragrances, but I can sniff as much as I want, I can't find anything green. On the contrary, it's more the complementary color red.
A melange of warm reds: orange-red saffron, the standard red oriental rose and a warm cinnamon red-brown.
Are the virtual perfumer and his marketing department color-blind, or is this a gag? Offering green but delivering red?
The whole thing is surrounded by a sweet, indefinably fruity cloud. So definitely not my style, unfortunately. Rather something for fans of the fruity-sweet oriental direction. However, this red fades surprisingly quickly, after about two hours only the base remains. It smells somehow like burnt sugar, but it lingers.
The person who sent me this bottle did not do so out of thoughtlessness, but because this fragrance was on my watch list. But why was it there?
About two years ago, I took part in a Jean Poivre brand challenge. I found one fragrance quite good, the rest not so special. The garden wasn't there, so I put it on my watch list. It could have been that......
Garden ticked off, company ticked off.
Next please.
