A Goddess rather than a Duchess
I want to put it as briefly and succinctly as possible - bloody hell!
Gritti has outdone himself this time and other cherry-picked artists even more so. Being able to produce such an incomprehensibly great composition, he deserves a wave of applause. This delightfully enticing sweetness combined with bitterly warm notes leaves one unsure of what to do with oneself (this was the case for me, as well as for many people I have shown the fragrance to)
The looks scream opulence, the black shell all made of suede-like velvet material, nailed with gold embellishments elevates our status to god-like. Best of all the interior is not at all dissimilar to this extraordinary bottle.
TF's Lost Cherry should move aside, the Duchess is easily harvesting it's fame. After the release of the first one I thought we wouldn't see a better cherry again, nothing could be further from the truth.
What can I say, Cherry, saffron and peach, together form a sweet base that lasts a very long time. That element of uniqueness that distinguishes this fragrance is the bitter orange, the most beautiful and juicy Italian one we can expect. Wrapped in creamy iris, almond and sugar, they give the fragrance some femininity and nuttiness. And this almost imperceptible delicacy is delivered here by white flowers combined with the clove.
The perfume lasts a VERY long time, and leaves a tail behind that I don't think I've encountered before. Be very careful with the amount of fragrance applied, it is deadly in its divinity.
I must point out if one is not fond of cherry sweetness, one is still able to tolerate this fragrance. The cherry makes its presence known for the first 2 hours tops and then it turns into a beautiful sweetness. I would definitely recommend to any sweet fragrance geek like me. Even though the price is high let's not be surprised, it's Gritti and the Duchess after all.
