Expectations were high
Yesterday I received my eagerly awaited bottle of Maison Mataha's latest release, Pêche Velours, and could hardly wait to get my nose on it.
So I sprayed it on my skin full of expectation, and at first I was flabbergasted...amazed...and disappointed...
A very synthetic peach note wafted towards me...and it was already clear that it would unfortunately not be absorbed...for the first 15 to 20 minutes this synthetic is very present...the longer the fragrance is on my skin and develops, a familiar fragrance DNA comes to my nose...
Where do I know this fragrance from? What does it remind me of, concentrate...you know the scent...you have something similar in your scent cupboard...
Where at first I thought of a cheap body spray, a familiarity spreads...and after a few minutes...bääääm
The realization hits me...it's the familiar DNA of Hundred Silent Ways Extrait de Parfum that comes to mind...
Of course!!!
If you look at the fragrance notes, peach, tuberose, jasmine, vanilla and sandalwood are listed in both fragrances...
Of course, there are small but subtle differences, but personally, Pêche Velours reminds me too much of Hundred Silent Ways Extrait de Parfum, which I love very much and also have in my collection, and which doesn't exude this synthetic quality for my nose...
In my opinion, the Pêche Velours is not a bad fragrance, not at all, if you like this synthetic and don't have or don't like the Hundred Silent Ways Extrait de Parfum, you might even like it a lot.
Conclusion for me is...good that I tested beforehand and didn't immediately order a full bottle blindly...
Test it before you blindly order, is therefore my advice to everyone...if you like it, you can always buy a full bottle!
