			Eau de undergrowth

This is an interesting perfume for what is basically a hodge podge of essential oils. I've had my sample for six years now - I know, shame on me - and this might have contributed to the faintly compressed 'mud' of patchouli, vetiver, and herbs I am smelling now, but I am quite happy for a scent to skip the punchy high points of citrus or lavender and plunge me right into the gloom of the undergrowth. And this scent is all undergrowth. It is musty, fungal (mushroomy), and even slightly moldy in an attractive way, kind of like coffee grains left to rot in the bottom of your cafetière while you're away and now you have to clean it out.
It is either for consumptive dandies crying about the ugliness of the wallpaper in Oscar Wilde's death chamber or for the earth-mother-forest-fairy-hippy type. Could go either way, really. I suppose that if you like earthy 'forest floor' chypres like Chypre Mousse and Le Smoking, and I do, that you will also like this, and again, I do. Keep in mind that Blue Screen/Blue Horizon has neither the polish nor the longevity of those perfumes, but also that these are overrated qualities.
