Remarkable cozy gourmand
This fragrance is absolutely remarkable. Of the lemon-vanilla scents I’ve actually sampled, this is the only one that I’ve been blown away by.

This smells exactly how it sounds: tea & biscuits. It smells like having an English Breakfast Tea (which is a type of black tea) with a side of lemon biscuits, at a cafe near one of the many stop along the Hammersmith & City underground stations in London. And I mean the British type of biscuits (I.e. cookies). It’s sweet, bright, slightly aromatic, slightly wheat-y, and soft. It’s absolutely delectable. I don’t consider myself a gourmand girl by any means just because I don’t always want to smell like sweets & sugar. But this has quickly become one of my holy grail fragrances. I’ve never smelled anything like it and it was truly love at first sniff.

Now the performance on this one shocked me a bit because as soft and subtle this is, it lasts a very long time on skin and clothes. And the silage is quiet, but definitely present. I wore it to work the other week and even after two or so hours, it’s was leaving noticeable trails. While I was with a patient, a man came into the exam room and asked to check the sharps container. Upon leaving, he said, “damn it smells good in here!”. I tend to go noseblind to a lot of my frags, so garnering that reaction while wearing this made me love it even more. It’s not offensive at all and can be worn wherever and whenever.

This is my first from the house and it makes me very excited to try more fragrances from them. I’d love to visit an actual store in London whenever I decide to go back and visit. Absolute 10/10 perfume that I think more people should know about.

Cozy in a Bottle
This opens with tea and a very light citrus, just enough to add a bit of zing but not enough to be sour. The tea is nice- not at all dry, dusty or bitter. It's a great cuppa, with just a light twist of lemon.

The top notes don't last very long before fading into a very soft, nutty, lactonic gourmand. I love, love, love the use of oat milk here, as it not only brings the sweet, lactonic accord, but it enhances, rather than swallows, the pastry and grain notes are at the heart of the heart, so to speak.

HT&B is rather linear on me, the vanilla being present after the top notes fade, which I don't mind at all, but when it fades down to a skin scent, before disappearing entirely, the oatmilk is gone, and I'm left with a lovely, not-too-sweet vanilla pastry. My one complaint about the scent itself is I cannot perceive any ginger at all. #@%& skin chemistry.

Still, I really like this a lot. It reminds me of winter breakfasts with my mom and mornings with my husband, who maintains, with almost religious zeal, the idea that daily oatmeal breakfasts allow him to eat as much of anything he likes during the rest of the day.

More seriously, this fragrance is the epitome of coziness- warm, creamy and familar. The longevity is good, 6 hours in very cold, dry weather. The projection/sillage is quite light but there is still a perceptible scent bubble for several hours. To me, HT&B is unisex but leans a bit femme, though I think a lot of men would love it. I think this fragrance is perfect for all ages and would be appropriate for formal events, work/school, fun nights or hanging out at home.

Lovely sweet fresh gourmand - bakery meets tea
4160 Tuesdays Hammersmith Tea & Biscuits is an aptly named gently cookie-sweet and plenty-fresh fragrance with a healthy but not overpowering tea note, with a slight of bit of hazelnut that just hints at the bakery that is Over the Chocolate Shop, without being too heavy in that respect. It makes for a pleasant, easygoing fragrant experience.

I very much liken Hammersmith Tea & Biscuits to Freeway, with Freeway having some of the edgier notes of Los Angeles—namely, booze, cannabis, and especially gasoline/petrol—while HT&B being its gentler, a bit more gourmand-friendly cousin. As with many variations within this house and others, I love having both as options.

Hammersmith Tea & Biscuits is sold on the house site as well as great boutiques in the US like Perfumology and Krystal Fragrance, and Indiescents in Canada, very reasonably priced at $135/95 for 100/50ml.

This is an easy fragrance to love and probably among the first couple I’d recommend to fans of gourmands, specifically, along with Over the Chocolate Shop and Captured by Candlelight.
