Absolutely delicious
Perfectly photorealistic scent of biting into a chocolate covered strawberry. It smells amazing but only lasts around two hours or so on my skin. It’s quite nice to spray on before bed, but I’m not sure where I’d wear this otherwise. That said, I’m still considering a full bottle purchase because it smells so good.

As already mentioned, performance-wise, it’s short lived and it stays close to the skin. Overall, a feminine-leaning and a wonderfully addictive gourmand. If you want to smell exactly like a chocolate covered strawberry, you’ll love it.

No silk, no lace, just mediocre chocolate
Chocolate scents are hit or miss to me. When they hit, they really do, but they also miss often. This one is in the latter category. It doesn't make me think of silk or delicate lace, it's way too coarse and waxy for that.

This is definitely easy to identify as a fruit-filled chocolate praliné scent. Strawberry as a note makes sense, but I also get some subtle hints of other fruits like plum and orange. The chocolate note in this smells dark and cacao-ish, not too milky. My problem is that it smells more like a nice fruit & chocolate scented candle than like the real thing. The texture is just a little off to my nose.
For some reason this also reminds me of the chocolates they sell exclusively at the register of TKmaxx. Those often don't taste quite as good as expected, and this feels like the olfactory equivalent of that feeling. If you know, you know.

In all fairness I got a sample of this by chance. There are many 4160 Tuesdays perfumes I'd love to try, but a simple strawberry & chocolate scent by an indie niche brand is not what I would have picked on my own.
It's okay for what it is, just not my thing.

Drugstore chocolate covered strawberry
I wouldn't call this "photorealistic" as I've never considered chocolate strawberries to have a particularly strong aroma on account of needing to be chilled, but the scent is clearly designed to evoke the confection.

The strawberry component is very nice and surprisingly long-lived given its placement as a top note. The tartness of the fruit adds bite and balance to the sweeter elements of the fragrance. Strawberry pairs surprisingly well with the amber accord, as the sharp resins give the fruit a bit more oomph. Strawberry note start to smell a bit artificial as it ages.

The chocolate component is less nuanced. I would have preferred a more bitter chocolate to temper the sweetness of the vanilla after the strawberry note begins to falter. As it stands, its more of a slightly nauseating milk chocolate rather than a complex dark chocolate.

I wish could live in the first hour of this fragrance, where everything seems perfectly balanced to keep the frequently oversweet vanilla notes in check. After the chocolate and vanilla fade, it become quite boring. The same vanilla-musk snoozefest I've smelled a hundred times.

Performance is good, still projecting faintly as I write this on hour 9.

Taft, Blendi & Cocoa Powder
Actually, I wanted to write a review today about a blind test or a first impression of a perfume, but then I pulled this sample out of the box. Lace & Silk and Chocolate

First impression:

I know that I tested this scent ages ago and in my notes, I find the following:

Somehow dusty and musty, fermented chocolate? I don't really like the very artificial top note at first. Still not great on the second test, quite bitter, but also slightly rancid and dusty, like fresh wood, strawberry seems artificial, like Blendi, well....

I am surprised, apparently I had tested the scent twice before and found it unbearable each time, yet the notes do appeal to me: Especially the chocolate paired with vanilla and strawberries. I want to be brave today and attempt a third test.

I had swapped for the scent back then because I had heard and read a lot of good things about it. That was about 4 years ago when I was looking for chocolatey sweet scents for the cold season. This one was a hot candidate.

The scent development:

When I sniff the spray head today, I quite like what I smell: Powderiness, subtly fruity sweetness, bitter cocoa, no milk chocolate or anything too sticky.

2 sprays on the wrist and immediately I am hit again by the overly powdery wood, but where does this come from? I can't find it in the scent notes. And then it peeks around the corner, first quite shyly and then quickly spreads out, pushing itself to the forefront. The strawberry. Not a fruity-fresh one, more like a chewing gum type, though not too sweet, and there it is again my association: children's toothpaste, without mint, just with artificial berry. At this stage, I perceive the scent as loud, strained, unrefined. No trace of lace and silk, rather a bit scratchy like taffeta. This time I remain steadfast, I don't wash it off (though I'm not sure if I did that during the first test). I wait for a development.

And here it comes: the berry becomes fruitier, steps back a bit now. It actually seems as if it has some bergamot in tow. I am glad that I held out this time, because the scent indeed becomes softer, silkier, loses the initial scratchiness and caresses the skin. The chocolate, which smells more like powdery cocoa to me, is very subtle, hardly noticeable.

From this stage on, the scent hardly changes anymore, only becomes weaker and just before it completely vanishes, it reminds me of a grape sugar candy with strawberry flavor.

My conclusion:

In retrospect, it was worth enduring to test the complete scent development. Although I still don't know if I would actually wear it. Probably only if I feel like artificial(er) strawberries.

For chocoholics, I definitely find it too unchocolatey. However, it could appeal to those who love scents like "Mukhallat | Montale."

Indulging Without Regret... But with a Splash of Aftershave.
This morning, I was really in the mood for chocolate... no, not for eating, as I was already well supplied thanks to my praline Advent calendar, which had a delicious piece of leaf nougat behind today's door. All that was missing was the chocolate to spray on, to lift my spirits amidst all the December rain, dreary weather, gray skies, and the Corona gloom. Unfortunately, I don't have any chocolate scents in my collection; in fact, I generally don't care for anything too sweet. But today, I simply craved an olfactory chocolate apocalypse, so I rummaged through my sample collection.
Silk, Lace & Chocolate - well, that sounded promising! Almost my life motto. I love wearing silk, I love wearing lace even more, and while I think a life without chocolate is possible, I find it pointless. So this scent must be made for me!

The name of the perfume immediately sparks my imagination: lounging in expensive lace lingerie and a luxurious silk robe on a plush, king-size bed, nibbling on the finest chocolate pralines straight from the box, what a decadent pleasure! A hint of old Hollywood glamour, a touch of film diva luxury to spray on amidst the dreary December Corona routine, that's what 'Silk, Lace & Chocolate' promises me.

And in a way, it does keep that promise: strawberry chocolate with a hint of vanilla, that's what I smell here. It could be a dark, noble bittersweet praline filled with fine strawberry cream, but Yoguretten smell like this too, that's true. I don't find the strawberry note too artificial, nor too sweet or overpowering, and thus it's actually quite pleasant. The dark chocolate forms a wonderful contrast, a play between sweet, fruity, and the bitter heaviness of cocoa and bittersweet chocolate.
So this scent could actually be quite my thing... ACTUALLY. Because hovering above it all is a very masculine aftershave note, which I attribute to the bergamot and musk. Both are fragrance notes I appreciate, especially the musk, but here they definitely spoil the scent for me. I wouldn't call the perfume 'Silk, Lace & Chocolate', but rather 'Strawberries, Chocolates & Aftershave'.

Thus, this scent leaves me somewhat perplexed: In my opinion, it doesn't work as a women's fragrance because the aftershave note is so prominent, yet for a men's fragrance, it seems far too sweet. I like this perfume, I enjoy smelling it, but I still wonder who should wear it. Perhaps very feminine men, or maybe women like the wonderful prosecutor Wilhelmine Klemm from the Münster crime series? Who knows... In any case, it's an interesting and unusual scent, even though I wish there were a more feminine version - without the aftershave note.

Mhm, it has something. Woody strawberry-milk chocolate. Not TOO sweet. Maybe a bit artificial with the strawberry. But the wood notes keep it from being too cheesy.

I don't smell strawberry yogurt or dark chocolate. To me, it also comes off musty and artificial, really strange somehow :/
