More of A "Sent Bon" Than a Niche Offering

The scent of the sirocco, hot and dry, carrying a trace of the spices from a far away souk. This is not a heavy fragrance, in fact it is quite sheer, so I think some people may be put off by this aspect of it. I got mine at a great deal, so am not disappointed, but I don't think I would have paid the asking price for it. As it is I'm very happy and will wear it often! :)

Spring-like floral Opoponax charmer, designed for femininity

Illuminum, a very young British perfume brand, founded in 2011, fully focuses on unisex and room fragrances.

The "Arabic Amber" now comes, contrary to its name, without any amber in the ingredients. In fact, the name seems somewhat misleading; I certainly don't smell any significant amounts.

At first, it has a slightly waxy quality, with bergamot as the only top note exuding a certain citrusy scent, but it is covered by a slightly sweet-animalic, warm Opoponax impression, somewhat reminiscent of "Shalimar" or "Coco."

Overall, the fragrance then takes on a rather floral character, becoming extremely feminine after 5 minutes. A lot of ylang-ylang, which seems relatively European, appears friendly and delicate. Pepper and nutmeg form a more subtle backbone, playing a minor role in the fragrance development.

As the bloom gradually recedes after 20 minutes, we approach more unisex territory, but still remain on feminine ground.

A bit of patchouli shows up, but it is arranged very lightly. Frankincense is also rather redundantly recognizable; essentially, the base consists of the somewhat harsher floral impression combined with a slightly sweet, balsamic Opoponax.

Stylistically suitable for spring and autumn, harmoniously arranged within itself, although it is really more for the ladies and not particularly originally composed.
