Ladies Who lunch
How does an old lady with a brown fur smells? Oriental and musky. A very interesting oil, perfect for layering. With 5 to 10 euros you get a persistent Perfume oil (with a medium sillage). It comes in a packaging that resembles a pack of cigarettes, the oil has a very dark and sticky appearance very similar to an oud. It opens with a strong note of geranium that is a bit annoying and at way too chemical IMO, after half an hour it evolved into a medicinal amber, for me the drydown is sandalwood and spices. It is not the most persistent oil in my collection and also the sillage is not the best (it’s an oil so you can’t expect a beast mode projection). I love to layer it with molecular scents like Juliet has a gun superdose or molecule 01.

Close and Short-lived
I'll say it right away, I can't get anything out of this scent.
I also can't understand the high rating, even less the longevity of currently 8.6. I ordered it blind because I like amber and it's rated quite well here.

For the price, you can't complain; it at least smells somewhat like amber, but this fragrance is extremely short-lived and has practically no sillage. As for the scent progression, I can only say the top note is a bit sharp, then amber-like without sillage and fading very quickly. It somehow reminds me of an Indian shop where you can buy various scarves and some spontaneous outfits.

I really don't want to put it down just because it's cheap, but you can clearly tell that it's not a high-quality fragrance. To expect that for €6.45 would be really presumptuous.

When I now see that this scent is even rated higher than, for example, Ciel de Gum, which I would classify as a truly excellent amber fragrance, then I honestly have nothing more to say. The only improvement would be to call it a scent twin.

My conclusion: You can try it out because of the price, but no one really needs it. Better to save the tuition for fragrances of this kind and spend it on something worthwhile.

Amber and Oud
The Pentecost weekend brought us very cool temperatures once again with the Ice Saints, and I intended to counteract this with warming cuddly amber.
An incredibly wonderful comment did the rest, and so the selection was quickly made.

After rolling the perfume oil, I hesitated - had I perhaps confused the bottle in my morning stupor and applied Oud?
Instead of the expected balsamic-resinous-velvety scent, a medicinal-sharp smell rose to my nose, which I would have clearly categorized as Oud.
A second look dismissed the assumption. No Oud, it was Amber.

But what was responsible for this initial impression? The fragrance pyramid is not really helpful, and so I continue to lean towards my initial suspicion that Oud is mixed in here despite everything, as is the case in about 99% of all Arabic perfumes.
Additionally, there is a deep, dark, resinous-woody note along with a hint of something animalistic.
Spices remain tame in the background, as does a delicate hint of rose, which can otherwise be so dominant in fragrances.
Even Artemisia (mugwort, wormwood) only shyly announces its existence.
The resinous and woody components prevail, as one would not expect anything different from an "Amber".

After a while, the scent has become what I initially hoped for: warm, soft, caressing, but with depth.
It lasts a long time, but I have to get very close to the scented spot to perceive it.
Unfortunately, I find the sillage to be very weak.
I must have had too high expectations for an oriental fragrance oil.
Perhaps it would benefit from warmer temperatures. I hope to test that out soon.

A Shield for the Heart
My thoughts are scattered everywhere
and know no rest.
Happiness hormones bubble out of me,
like from a fountain.

My heart is working at full speed,
enveloped, like a child by its mother.
I lead my body to a place,
where the feet can barely find their footing.
Where the hands can grasp nothing.
For I am floating in a sensory ecstasy.

I now realize,
how heavy thoughts weigh,
how much the mind works to follow our feelings.

I often need a shield for the heart,
to push away unnecessary things.
To not let them penetrate my deepest self.

Amber by Al Haramain forms such a shield.
Strong against everything. Massive.
With a spice concrete wall that keeps at bay all that unsettles me.
The comforting warmth of the desert air, deep and sensual. Rose, blood-red, spreading its scent far beyond my skin and attracting many. Resinous nuances that gently illuminate the fragrance and give it a golden veil. Sandalwood provides the scent with the right woody character it needs. Just right. Not too much and not too little. I would also describe Amber as subtly animalistic.

The fragrance itself starts off sharply and has a medicinal note. Please don’t be put off by that. The cynical monster quickly becomes tame.
Everything swirls around. One must first collect oneself and give the fragrance its time.
This is then rewarded, and one receives a beautiful spicy oriental that firmly embraces the heart. Like a shield. For the scent lasts and lasts. Amber easily lasts a day. For a price of not even €12, this oil is available. Very solid and a good price-performance ratio.

Very classical men scent. Not bad for the price.

That’s how I encountered Amber for the first time in my life - mystical and magical, dark, promising, and erotic - and it never let me go!

Doesn't deserve the name ''Amber'' at all. Bright, soapy, slightly citrusy and floral. Not a hint of warmth. Completely off-theme.

First association: Haribo cola bottles.
Otherwise rather herbal, grassy, green.
Amber is clearly noticeable.
Quite a lovely scent.

Resinous, spicy, and oriental. Reminds me of the perfume oils in the hippie shop.

Burnt rubber, old rubber, sweet rubber. None of the lovely listed ingredients come through. Rubber all over.

I encounter a pleasant spice/wood blend that creates a fitting backdrop for rose and iris - with a warm-resinous-spicy finish.

At first a bit demanding, but then a lot of patchouli-earth against a warm-spicy backdrop. Hardly any sweetness. A hint of rose in between. Rating: very successful.

The top note smells like Vita-Cola lol. You have to like it. The drydown is more smoky-woody and dominated by sandalwood à la Nag Champa.
