Freshly ironed
First of all, I have to say that I have never smelled the original Reflection. So this counts as an "unbiased opinion" and similarity to the OG doesn't matter. I bought the fragrance in the souk, the round 60 ml bottle seems to be a bit leaky. I don't know if this is systematic or if it happened due to transportation without an OVP.
In any case, the whole box smelled strongly of the fragrance as it smells in the drydown. At the opening, the fragrance is still somewhat undecided as to what it wants to be. It is a melange of fresh, sweet, herbaceous and soapy notes that I can't put my finger on. It didn't grab me at first. However, the fragrance then quickly (about 20 minutes later) develops into an absolute "clean man" that smells totally clean and pleasant like a white shirt that has been freshly ironed after washing. You can actually smell the warmth of the freshly ironed fabric, a pretty great olfactory experience. I'm not normally a fan of detergent or fabric softener scents at all, but this one is on a whole other level. It actually reminds me of exactly how my shirts used to smell when grandma washed, ironed and carefully folded them. A total feel-good fragrance that simply puts you in a good mood.
Longevity is good, it easily gets you through the working day. Sillage in the mid-range, suits the fragrance well for me.
I will soon be testing Reflection and Reflection 45 and will then add my impressions in comparison here.
