1981X Alexandria Fragrances 2018 Parfum Extract

Delicious, opulent, elegant, in Alexandria they achieve what very few in inspirations, fragrances of very good quality at an affordable price; the truth is I do not know how they do but well give us quite the approximations of the top niche, I had the opportunity to have decants of both Xerjoff XJ 1861 Naxos and this, surprisingly their resemblance in the drying is beastly, so for price I go for this and without fear of spending a fortune. During the life of the fragrance is always present tobacco, jasmine and lavender are notorious and remain there for a long time accentuated along with cinnamon (not so prominent) giving way to vanilla and Tonka bean to round out the composition, honestly the honey I do not feel it so much; the citrus output disappears soon as 5 minutes.
The duration is average 6 to 7 hours on the skin; 1861 Naxos doesn't give more than that on my skin either.
I think it goes for a nighttime environment; that's why it doesn't give much beyond performance.

I didn't find Naxos to smell like Pure Havane, but I understood the many comparisons. There are definitely familiar hints of the Mugler DNA, but 1981X leans more towards Pure Havane to my nose. Naxos opens much brighter and becomes its own entity after application; while 1981X almost immediately focuses on the heart and base notes. I initially loved Naxos, but found that it was reduced to a skin scent within an hour. A curious itch led me to Alexandria's 1981X. I took a chance and ordered a 30ml spray and my only regret was not getting a bigger bottle. Is it wrong that I prefer 1981X to Naxos?? It's everything that I want Naxos to be and offers the lacking projection. Naxos is wonderful and it does in fact last, but intimately close to the skin. Layered, they are the perfect duo but for now I will live with Alexandria's rendition.

I'm going to be controversial and say this is Xerjoff Naxos on steroids!

When you let this baby macerate for a few months, I kid you not, it gets even better than Naxos. The maker claims this is an extrait and I wouldn't be surprised if it really was.

1981X gives us a great honey note that can strongly be felt even during the drydown and this is what makes it a smooth and sexy perfume. Not everyone can pull this off and you shouldn't blind buy it but for God's sake - at least give it a try! :-)

Now this scent is very nice indeed and I now know why it's so popular. It smells very sensual and enchanting!

It opens up with citrus notes which is quickly followed by a aromatic tobacco that has been slightly honeyed.

Soon after a beautiful jasmine and lavender joins the party and this is where the magic happens. The smell is enticing and inviting with everything been light and not too sweet or overwhelming.

As time passes vanilla adds some extra sweetness with tonka and cinnamon adding depth to the tobacco.

All in all it is very easy to wear and nicely balanced. It does have a Burberry London vibe which is probably down to the tobacco. But this goes in a different direction and is more nuanced than that one which gets boozy with it's port wine smell.

When I first smelled Naxos in the store and sprayed it on, I was thrilled. A thrill that I had only known from Aventus, but which faded after a few hours to the point where I didn't feel the need to constantly smell my wrist. Nevertheless, this fragrance stood out positively to me, and I couldn't help but add 1981x to my order at Alexandria Fragrances, which was actually for another scent that later turned out to be nowhere near as good as this one. Later, I was more than happy to have ordered it.

The First Phase

I divide this section, namely the fragrance description, into two parts. This is for the simple reason that the scent changed completely within the first 2 months it sat on my shelf.

The smell of pure honey fresh from the combs of a beehive and the purest vanilla, which does not smell heavy but also has a kind of freshness, along with light tobacco notes that float in the background. This is the scent that enveloped me when I first wore this fragrance. This scent lasts about 4 hours in the air, and you can actually smell it continuously in your nose. After this time, the fragrance settles, and you have to get about 20 cm close to your wrist to smell it well again. The progression is very linear, and you are glad to smell so good; however, there is no reason to bring your wrist close to your nose again. After about 8 hours, the scent has faded, and it was a pleasant, unobtrusive, but also somewhat unexciting experience. Naxos had relatively little to do with this scent.

The Second Phase

After a month, I noticed that the scent was changing. Therefore, I let it sit in the cabinet for another month on the recommendation of others who already had experience with fragrances from this brand, and only then did I spray it on my wrist again.

And WOW, I was shocked. My wonderful honey and vanilla scent had completely changed.
At first, I wasn't sure if I should approve of this change, because suddenly this fragrance was no longer uncomplicated and simple, but much more complex and spicy. The honey was now accompanied by loud cries of cinnamon and lavender, and then I noticed that it was now clearly leaning more towards Naxos.
So I went to the store and had Naxos sprayed on one wrist and this fragrance on the other. The similarity was already there, but to my surprise, I liked the development of 1981x better than that of Naxos. While Naxos went through an exciting development, it also smelled spicy and intense in the later stages, which I found almost bothersome after 8 hours. In contrast, the development of 1981x was less exciting, but the spiciness that some might certainly enjoy had disappeared, and the fragrance smelled as I had described it in my first phase - simply beautiful.
