Freudensprung Alverde 2019

After Weleda discontinued its fragrances, I continued my search for similar scents. But these wonderful nature-inspired fragrances, where one could truly immerse oneself in nature (in my case, wild rose like the North Sea), are nowhere to be found. Uncle Yves' descendants have long been out of the race for me.

So, here’s a try at DM with Alverde. Sprayed on my hand and out to the parking lot, which is spacious enough to safely lift the mask a bit.

The beginning is very appealing and quickly brings in almond, rose, and fruits. Ah... I thought based on the pyramid that this is it, but I was too quick to rejoice. Hardly outside, it was already gone. Just to be safe, I sniffed the fragrance in my handbag, because you think your own thoughts when you can't smell something. No, my scent was there, but the joyful jump had already hopped into the nearby forest. On the skin, a powdery, watery, slightly berry-floral hint. A bit of gentle almond lingered stubbornly as a tiny trace. Rushed into the store and quickly completed my planned purchases. Back in the car, the scent was gone. Yes, a cream tends to be more lasting in terms of fragrance.

Joyful Jumper was on sale, but I passed. Also on testing the other fragrances in the series.

In summary, it would be a lovely scent if it were a bit stronger and, above all, lasted longer. So unfortunately, not for me. But perhaps for young eco-conscious vegans who choose such fragrances out of conviction.

I would have preferred it to be more floral; I only smelled slightly sweet, almond-tinged forest berries. The target audience is young girls from eco-friendly households, whose noses have not yet been dulled by too many artificial flavorings. It is quite light as well. Twenty years ago, I would have liked it; now I am older and want more flowers. I couldn't detect any lily at all, which is a pity. Nevertheless, the fragrance has my respect, just like the very nicely scented body care products from the brand. You can't just mix essential oils together to create or simulate, for example, forest berry scent; I wonder how they do it?
