Glücksoase Alverde 2019

Bought for a song at DM (bargain bin). Even as a room fragrance or curtain scent
it's unbearable!!
It constricts (for me) the throat and leads to coughing fits. Terrible!!!
So much for "natural scent".
I'm actually not sensitive to "fragrance".
The last time I had these symptoms was with "JOOP ROT" for Men.

I bought my wife a perfume! If that's not enough for you, please stop reading here.

My wife has recently developed a fondness for natural cosmetics and skincare products, and it quickly became clear that she wanted to test the new fragrances from Alverde at DM. So, I was taken along as the resident expert and corrective on perfumes under false pretenses to this women's discount store - IKEA is not far, and they promised me hot dogs!

An unbleached brown recycling cardboard box is printed with green plants and flowers, loudly proclaiming eco and organic. The small, slightly rounded clear glass cylinder is pleasantly minimalist, but I don't like the large, transparent plastic sticker. The real wood overlay on the plastic cap is also supposed to convey organic and eco vibes, but for me, it’s more of a waste of resources. I do like the sprayer: with one push, it delivers a strong and even mist, without any splattering.

The first sniff reveals citrus notes, surrounded by bitter green notes. In the first seconds, it might be a bit sharp, but that quickly subsides; one should not immediately shove their nose in right after spraying. This opening accord is pleasant and well-balanced. However, it doesn’t last particularly long; after significantly less than an hour, the green freshness gives way to a light and delicate flower, very monochrome and simply structured. After another hour, a hint of sweetness emerges, which for me doesn’t necessarily fit with the other two notes, but fortunately, it doesn’t become overpowering or cloyingly sweet. After just under four hours, the fragrance fades away and is no longer perceivable to me.

This fragrance is truly not a revelation, and its presence reflects that. You can’t go wrong with this scent; it’s good for "quick spritzes" or when you don’t want to stand out at work with your perfume. You do need to reapply in between, but the scent cloud remains limited to a maximum arm's length. Even though this fragrance is free from any harshness, I can’t help but compare it to one or another room spray that employs similar or identical scent accords. I don’t understand why the marketing geniuses named this fragrance "Oasis of Happiness," but probably a plain numbering was just too banal at this point.

Alverde advertises, among other things, with the words "natural perfume" and "fragrance essences 100% of natural origin" and refers to certifications. Considering the laughably low price of just EUR 10.00 for 50ml, you really can’t go wrong with this simple and fresh everyday scent.

I bought my wife the perfume. She also didn’t bring any money - she’s been doing that more often lately when we go shopping together... ;)
