Tagtraum Alverde 2019

I dedicate my first comment here in this forum to this fragrance because it deserves it. I am very particular about perfumes and scents, generally only liking fragrances from real perfume brands like Penhaligons or Annick Goutal. Cheap fragrances, especially from drugstores, quickly give me headaches, but this scent is different. Personally, I find the wild rose scent not very dominant, rather subtle, but it definitely adds a certain depth. The tonka bean gives the perfume this wonderful warm powderiness, while the vanilla adds a slight sweetness to round out the fragrance. For just about 10€, this scent is a real hit for me! Anyone who enjoys powdery fragrances should not miss this one.

After spraying, I am greeted by the cool-scratchy wild rose scent familiar from body care products, along with a lot of sweetness; the sweetness comes from the rose geranium, tonka, and vanilla, which are so well balanced that none stands out individually. In the background, I think I can still perceive cedar. On the skin, it quickly becomes powdery mild, adorably sweet with a rosy floral aura, and becomes intimate. On clothing, it lasted all day for me and remained wild rosy, a bit cooler, but also powdery.
I bought it because I am currently on the lookout for rose scents and haven't found one yet. In contrast to others, it is not soapy at all, does not become arbitrarily synthetic in the base, and although it does not have a significant scent development, it does not scream one-dimensional simply-rose.
Regarding the bottle: I don't like it, it can no longer be twisted open (like in the last series) and the wood-over-plastic cap, well, I guess it should save plastic, but the old version without a cap with the clip was more modern. Bottle shape: boring. However, I find the romantic print designs pretty. The name also fits well with the scent; it indeed suits relaxed leisure time.

Today, after a unfortunately very unpleasant incident with one of our dogs, I was a bundle of nerves and completely out of sorts.
Unfortunately, I had to go to dm in this state.
As always, I first lingered at the perfume shelf. To calm myself, I sniffed a few scents until I stumbled upon this one. "Daydream"..... A wonderfully fitting name and it's natural cosmetics too..... Maybe I can forget the nightmare of this afternoon through this.....
Rose, tonka bean, and geranium, exactly the components I really like.
Without much expectation, I grabbed the tester and sprayed the scent on.... the first impression was quite acceptable, but nothing special at first spray.
I then moved on to buy the rest of the stuff through the store. The longer I spent time with it, the more beautiful the scent developed, surrounding me like a tender, comforting embrace. That was exactly what I needed after this cursed afternoon, and I felt a little better.

Now to the scent:
The box is made of unbleached cardboard and printed with roses in a vintage look. On the lower third of the front, the fragrance name and components are displayed in a white field.
The bottle is kept quite simple, you get 50 ml after all.
At first spray, the scent seems nothing special, but then....
First, a fully bloomed, sweet, somewhat heavy rose unfolds, followed by a subtle geranium that acts modestly in the background, but occasionally flashes through, balancing the heaviness of the rose and having a soothing effect.
And then the tonka bean makes its grand entrance, taking the lead with its sweet-bitter note and gently pushing the rose scent into the background.
All three components are beautifully balanced, and in the base note, each one complements the others without any standing out particularly.
The longevity is fantastic for a natural cosmetics scent.
I still perceive the interplay of rose, geranium, and tonka bean very clearly, without getting a headache from it.
The price of just under ten euros is also great, so I took a second scent for my sister.
Now - after a little more than 4.5 hours, the scent is still fully present and I love it very much.
I will wear it as a special everyday scent in the future, especially when I am not feeling well - like today - and need comfort.

I’m sitting on the grass. It’s spring. It rained yesterday or the day before, and slowly the flowers are either opening their blossoms again - or they are doing so for the first time this year, in accordance with the season.
“Oh, how lovely!” I think, while I’m eating pudding with a cat. Of course, she gobbles everything up and then looks at me reproachfully when I don’t pull out a second one from my bag.
“What are you doing out here anyway? Don’t you have anything to do? Don’t you have to work, pay bills, do things that an adult has to do?” she asks me, and she almost had me there!
But as a master of procrastination, I brush it off with a laugh. “The things I’ve been putting off for a week can just as well wait until tomorrow. Besides: aren’t you actually a house cat? Shouldn’t I be asking you the same question you’re asking me?”
No, no.
We agree that we’d rather enjoy this beautiful moment together a little longer than let this dream dissipate.
It certainly won’t last much longer, and then Bagheera will be back in her secured outdoor area while I’m in the prison of my thoughts, revolving around what I still have to do.
So, Bagheera and I barely nod to each other, well aware that taking a break outweighs a guilty conscience by far. I close my eyes, she purrs.

About the scent: It doesn’t undergo a big development. It starts off pleasant and remains so. I find it only slightly powdery, which does not apply to the scent itself.
It rather screams something like “Spring! Sweet as sugar! Buy more flowers!” and at least reminds me vaguely of grape sugar. I perceive the sillage as moderate; it quickly becomes close to the skin and lasts only a few hours on the skin and in the hair.
As mentioned in the statement, it strongly reminds me of an EdT from Étam, the French lingerie label, namely the “Bulleuse Delicieuse Eau Nue,” which I used up in 2017/18 and haven’t been able to repurchase since (you get redirected online to the Étam site, and it’s not available there either). The woody (supposedly sandalwood, if I remember correctly) base is common to both, and I find my scent memory aligns with it in the top/heart notes as well. Additionally, there’s a hint of Nivea for me. But that’s not a problem; I like the smell of Nivea.

About the bottle: okay. The cap, half wood and half plastic inside, is a bit of a deception and looks more eco-friendly at first glance than it actually is.
I like the label and the subtle print.

For the price, you can definitely buy it with a clear conscience and dream a little.

Gradually, the other flowers join in. None push to the forefront - a balanced bouquet that becomes increasingly intense. Cedarwood is subtly noticeable. Suspect more woods.

Even before the drydown, tonka bean and vanilla make their presence known, with the tonka bean proving to be a wonderful counterpart to the wood. Hawthorn adds a floral sweetness.

A fragrance that initially wanted to go powdery but then veered into creaminess - which actually makes it even more interesting.

But now comes the kicker: This whole thing is not available for under 100 euros, not for under 50, nor under 30. Furthermore, this product carries the internationally recognized NATRUE seal for natural cosmetics. Alongside exclusively natural ingredients, you can get this vibrant, seductive all-rounder for just under 10 euros at any dm drugstore or online.

Final conclusion: Probably a fragrance that is perceived as more feminine, which many find feminine. However, we find it very interesting for men as well. One should be aware that this fragrance has the power to transform you into a first-rate rose cavalier, especially considering how flattering tonka bean and vanilla can be.
