The journey continues with the scents from the travel package, and I come to another Angela Ciampagna fragrance.
Overall, the travel package has left me with mixed feelings, as I found some of the scents quite nice, but many were just average or even insignificant.
The scent Ignes here has become a maritime tobacco fragrance that smells somewhat special, yet is still fairly pleasant, which some might enjoy, while others might not!
Oh, I just realized that this will be my 1000th comment. I probably should have saved that for a special fragrance, right? Oh well, I’ll just write another 1000 comments, … it goes quickly :DD
The Scent:
The scent starts as indicated with sour-citrusy notes that are hard to identify. But shortly after spraying, you can smell a strong tobacco note with earthy patchouli and salty maritime notes. While it does have a somewhat overwhelming stuffiness, it is not unpleasant.
The sour notes disappear quite quickly, while the other listed fragrance notes become stronger. Additionally, I have the feeling that I can perceive a slight leather note in the background.
All of this has a somewhat unusual scent, which is not bad, but does come across as more unique.
The base is rather weak. You can hardly smell the vetiver, if at all, and the musk only wafts in from the background, causing the sweet notes to radiate quite weakly.
The Sillage and Longevity:
The projection is at a higher level and is therefore quite noticeable when someone wears the scent. A scent cloud also lingers behind.
The longevity is above average, lasting between six and eight hours, after which it is hardly detectable.
The Bottle:
The bottle is small and rectangular. The label appears to be made of fabric, featuring the brand's logo. The fragrance name is on the ribbon from which the logo hangs. The cap is cylindrical on the bottom side. On the top side, it has a really well-made "wheel" that looks like a decorative wooden wheel or somewhat like a mandala. I find the bottle very well done.
Yes, this scent is somewhat special. It primarily smells of tobacco, patchouli, and salty notes, but somehow this combination creates a unique note that may not appeal to everyone, but as mentioned, some others might actually enjoy it.
It’s almost as if you are walking along a coast in autumn, perceiving the scent of the sea and especially the sea salt swirling in the air and clinging to the rocks, while you relax and smoke a cigarette or cigar. I can easily imagine that such an (evening) walk must be quite relaxing, allowing you to forget about all the stress you are often exposed to. Not to mention the surely magnificent view of the sea during sunset!
I would recommend this scent for relaxation, as it might not be well-received everywhere.
