Crystalised resins.
I'm not a fan of balsamic resins, but this is my first impression. You open the wood, and find resins still thick and flowing. This is it. Patchouli is not enough to make it less balsamic. A noticeable but not strong as I wished tobacco note. A weird campfire by the sea, even tho the sea is more like an air accord and not really salty - but it delivers the idea. Not good on my skin, tho...

Smoking in Autumn by the Sea
The journey continues with the scents from the travel package, and I come to another Angela Ciampagna fragrance.
Overall, the travel package has left me with mixed feelings, as I found some of the scents quite nice, but many were just average or even insignificant.

The scent Ignes here has become a maritime tobacco fragrance that smells somewhat special, yet is still fairly pleasant, which some might enjoy, while others might not!

Oh, I just realized that this will be my 1000th comment. I probably should have saved that for a special fragrance, right? Oh well, I’ll just write another 1000 comments, … it goes quickly :DD

The Scent:
The scent starts as indicated with sour-citrusy notes that are hard to identify. But shortly after spraying, you can smell a strong tobacco note with earthy patchouli and salty maritime notes. While it does have a somewhat overwhelming stuffiness, it is not unpleasant.
The sour notes disappear quite quickly, while the other listed fragrance notes become stronger. Additionally, I have the feeling that I can perceive a slight leather note in the background.
All of this has a somewhat unusual scent, which is not bad, but does come across as more unique.
The base is rather weak. You can hardly smell the vetiver, if at all, and the musk only wafts in from the background, causing the sweet notes to radiate quite weakly.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The projection is at a higher level and is therefore quite noticeable when someone wears the scent. A scent cloud also lingers behind.
The longevity is above average, lasting between six and eight hours, after which it is hardly detectable.

The Bottle:
The bottle is small and rectangular. The label appears to be made of fabric, featuring the brand's logo. The fragrance name is on the ribbon from which the logo hangs. The cap is cylindrical on the bottom side. On the top side, it has a really well-made "wheel" that looks like a decorative wooden wheel or somewhat like a mandala. I find the bottle very well done.

Yes, this scent is somewhat special. It primarily smells of tobacco, patchouli, and salty notes, but somehow this combination creates a unique note that may not appeal to everyone, but as mentioned, some others might actually enjoy it.

It’s almost as if you are walking along a coast in autumn, perceiving the scent of the sea and especially the sea salt swirling in the air and clinging to the rocks, while you relax and smoke a cigarette or cigar. I can easily imagine that such an (evening) walk must be quite relaxing, allowing you to forget about all the stress you are often exposed to. Not to mention the surely magnificent view of the sea during sunset!

I would recommend this scent for relaxation, as it might not be well-received everywhere.

Inhaling Without Regret
I have always been a non-smoker, only occasionally puffing on one when I’m in the mood for a beer. More than five packs, spread over fifty years of life, surely don’t add up. What a blessing that I apparently don’t carry a smoker's gene and can easily resist any temptation for permanent consumption.

With IGNES, however, it’s a different story. The noble, gently mild tobacco note that IGNES radiates from the first moment on my skin comes with a serious addiction factor. In the opening, the tobacco is accompanied by light, fruity notes that I can’t quite identify. These fade away after about half an hour, making way for a smoky, earthy, yet never biting mélange of tobacco with a hint of light mate tea. In the base, the tobacco becomes milder, the mate tea association dissolves, leaving behind a trace of a spicy-mild, vanilla-woody pipe tobacco that one enjoys sniffing. With IGNES, I smell as if I have just emerged from a non-existent smoking lounge after dinner - and my lungs remain clean. It’s something!

I can’t identify many components of the fragrance pyramid. Apparently, the involved notes mainly serve to caress the tobacco absolute and provide a depth that is truly intoxicating. There’s no trace of a smoky dive or the stench of a stale corner pub. The theme of "smoke" is elegantly executed, having absolutely nothing in common with the rather biting, incense- and birch tar-heavy variants I have encountered so far.

I only give it 8 points because the astonishing and captivating scent experience simply doesn’t last long enough. Despite a quite pronounced sillage, the fragrance on my skin is already gone after about four hours. It’s beautiful nonetheless - and even enchants me, a die-hard non-smoker. Compliment!!

My newly discovered gem. It reminds me of the woods and campfires in the cool fall weather.

Earthy and weirdly savory patchouli, woody vetiver, and oddly wet and resinous tobacco. It works but I'm not blown away.

The earth glows red
Where cinnamon sparks fly
Pipe tobacco glows in labdanum
Smoke hides the amber sun
Grasses burn to sweet coal

Patchouli melts into wet tobacco.
Amber dreams burst into golden dust sparks.
It's becoming masculine.

Like a kind of chocolate patch, liqueur-like, wet tobacco, more spicy than smoky. Later it becomes drier and the dry tobacco glows.

Fire tobacco - doesn't burn, doesn't smoke. Glows, carried by unmistakably warm-spicy Bourbon vetiver. Damp earthy, dry-sweet mist.

Moist tobacco, patchouli, and animalistic notes come together for a scent experience like an ashtray after rain: exciting and quite new!

Woody, dirty, wet, tobacco, with a hint of smokiness. Could be a cross between a Diane Pernet and Euphorium Brooklyn. Delicious!

Does the old wood scent still smoke, still smoke, still smoke?
Yes, it still smokes, it still smokes quite a lot *sings*

Strange combination of sour, chili, tobacco, and leather; aquatic nuances; very interesting concept; not wearable for me.
