A club that exceeded my expectations
I was very curious about this club that according to reviews, boasted close comparisons with Noir de Noir. So I joined a bid and won a bottle. Btw, I owned a decant of NdN.
Once I got hold of this Club I went back at work and tried a couple of sprays. In a few seconds, I was engulfed or should I say hugged by a wonderful smell that this for me, contrary from other review, is a thicker TF Noir de Noir. The radius of aroma expanded so fast that even those around me can smell it and liked it. A huge surprise of fragrance explosion for only two sprays.

The rose is the angry leader right of the bat while geranium and saffron is holding it's temper to add some smoothness. This top experience is glorious.. majestic. An "attraction" stage, an impressionist, a presence to be noticed.

Few minutes later, nutmeg and pepper gets involved, expressing sensuality, mystery, bittersweet masculine side and a haunting dark embrace. The rose stays afloat and with violet and geranium, they played with grace to add a feminine tone. Surprisingly, I can smell vibe of patchouli in some moments. This middle stage is very inviting, a fragrance fit for both sexes up to it's end stage.

On the base, Club de Nuit has maintained the vague character of the top but the middle stage is still evident. Truly an essence of attraction, a cloud that never cease to invite and captivate.

With it's bittersweet comfort within it's elegance, the dry down seems like a never ending wonderful journey of a comfy sexy and delicious woody (oud) gourmand (vanilla), blending beautifully with patchouli and amber. These blend is whirling like fairy dusts atop a whispering floral spirit (rose).

Club de Nuit Intense for Women is playful and creative. There is an impression that pops up once in a while that reminded me of Montale Intense Café and Mancera Roses Vanille over dry down. This was an observation that I never experience with full wearing/s of Tom Ford Noir de Noir.

In my personal subjective comparison, I noticed that Club de Nuit was "slightly" dirtier and a tad "heavier" on top stage. More dusty and quite milky on middle and base, respectively.

TF NdN in all three stages was more founded, thinner yet more airy and highly refined. But both perfumes are tempting, inviting and comforting with sophistication. Both perfumes with their performances are ambitious, outstanding, almost blend for perfection, in all it's corners, be it sprayed on skin or on clothes.

Final thoughts, Club de Nuit Intense on a very tight margin, beats TF Noir de Noir on it's thicker scent cloud, playfulness and potency, throughout my scent journey. Tom Ford Noir de Noir beats Club de Nuit Intense on a very tight margin, with it's quality and refinement.

These comparisons cannot be traced easily, it took me hours of close observation, side by side. But again, my observation should be taken subjectively.

On price comparison, it is obvious, go for Club de Nuit Intense for Women.

Habit-Forming Worldliness
What an excellent perfume. It reminds me of the new Louis Vuitton collection in its deft, expert blendings. Did Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud create this too? Even sprayed on heavily it has sophistication. Rose, yes. Oud, yes. But done up so fantastically with the other ingredients, it's hard to tell where one ends and another starts. Saffron and Pepper stave off boredom. No way this is just another nice rose perfume. I've worn it three times I think in the two weeks I've owned it. And it costs next to nothing. What a steal.

Secret Stash of Filth
I ordered this fragrance without knowing its actual scent, but following my instinct. I saw it on sale on Notino at a bargain price during the Black Friday week. The fragrance notes and the price were attractive, so I put the item in the bin without thinking about it. Club de Nuit Intense Woman is a chypre with a Middle Eastern twist essentially composed of roughly medicinal oud, patchouli grim, rose caress, a leather bandage, and a soothing embrace of amber vanilla. It is a masterpiece, superior, and pleasant fragrance that not everyone will understand and appreciate. Kind of like opera in the theatre, either you love it, and it makes you cry, or you despise it and can’t stand it. This juice was love at first sight. If you are anything like me, you fall in love with it and don’t feel so weird about wearing a women’s marketed fragrance. As the scent progresses, anything that might seem a little feminine and high on the floral hue at first turns into something more masculine and animalistic.

To begin, Club de Nuit Intense Woman unfolds with an imposing semi-boozy Turkish rose fought over by two severe, rough, and gruff lovers, patchouli and oud. These two shady figures create a blanket of earthy filth around the immaculate rose, which is wondrous. There is a hint of green geranium, but most of all, I get the leathery facet of the saffron. Though the rose is the angry leader, saffron and geranium keep their temper to add some softness. Impressive opening with rose-oud-patchouli matching I’ve ever smelt.

The scent grows, and I see myself inside an old gothic cathedral. Earthiness and smokiness expand, and a sort of warm spiciness kicks in. I can get sweet nutmeg and spicy pepper with a misty powder hue. These spices add mystery, sensuality, and a haunting dark embrace, with the rose staying afloat and blending with violet leaves. This intermediate stage is very tempting, an essence that suits both genders until its final stage.

I catch a succulent tinge of bitter dark chocolate and aged precious red wine at the base. The dry down is one of the best finishing I’ve ever smelled. The patchouli that was already clear in the opening now fades quickly. However, it remains in the foreground with the oud, mixing with the sweeter and substantial powdery notes of vanilla, spicier than gourmand, and salty amber. To some extent, the final breath reminds me of Coco Noir Eau de Parfum. Several hours after the application, and even the day after, I get the cosy sweetness of the vanilla.

Regarding the essence itself, even if this came out first on the market, I notice an enormous similarity with Matière Noire. Perhaps some notes are more stressed in one rather than the other. However, this doesn’t surprise me as both are like or close to the Noir de Noir Eau de Parfum vibe. Club de Nuit Intense Woman is long-lasting and leaves your clothes smelling divine the next day after you’ve worn them the night before. Unquestionably a dark and dense essence for the colder evening and nights of fall and winter. I love it and am eager to try more from this fragrance house. Took a risk and blindly bought this, and you will be glad you did. Club de Nuit Intense Woman is a fragrance to wear to a formal event, dinner, or date, particularly at night in cooler weather.

Finally, what surprises me the most is its price. It smells like it should be a niche luxury creation for two or three hundred euros, but I paid less than 25 euros for it. To me, this is my secret stash of filth, in a good sense, of course. I bow in front of the Armaf house, as this is my second positive experience after Armaf Niche - Oud. Now I’m ready to discover more. Is there anyone who would like to suggest something? I can’t wait.

I base my opinion and review on a bottle I have owned since November 2022.

The chocolate temptress...
The curtains part as a wave of applause spurs the young woman forward. She's dressed in black - sleek, simple, opulent, with glittering accents of chocolatey copper and crimson. And although it's her third show this evening, she's still up for a little fun. Her heels find the red velvet carpet and she makes her way to the edge of the stage. Already the wafts of freshly brewed coffee are wafting from the small circular tables, finding her nostrils before she finds the mic. The band takes a deep breath....and the fun begins anew.

This is essentially the image I get every time I wear this fragrance. Right from the opening, there are glaring similarities with Tom Ford's Noir de Noir, but I also get quite a bit of Cafe Tuberosa from Atelier Cologne. Initially, it's an enveloping embrace of rose, patchouli, a touch of spice and a beautifully sweet synthetic oud. As the fragrance continues to open up, the rose pushes through quite strongly, overwhelming the spices, yet making way for a very thin and understated vanilla to join the blend. To the non-enthusiast, it's likely a feminine scent through-and-through; but to me, it's simply one of the sexiest unisex fragrances that I've ever smelled.

Without sounding too bashful, there's something about this scent that I just find incredibly addictive. At times, I swear that I can smell a hint of dark chocolate coming though, only to be quickly ousted by the oud and vanilla. Could this be the patchouli? Other times, I get a pleasant saffron-y amber poured over a rose scented candle. Images of the roaring 20s, being backstage at a burlesque house come to mind, velvet pouffes, bright lights, revealing outfits, and an air of seduction and sophisticated theatricality. Whether or not I've smelled something like this before, there's no denying that CDNIW has the overall feel of an evening-wear perfume.

And just like with any show, you expect a decent performance - an area in which CDNIW doesn't disappoint. Projection and longevity are well above average even in the latest formulation - the one with "club de nuit" printed in raised lettering on the side of the bottle - and without any deviation in quality over time. Any more than 6 sprays and you'll be pushing a monstrous sillage for a good 2-3 hours. But then again, that's never a bad thing if you want to get noticed!

Considered by many to be the quintessential valentine's day fragrance, TF's Noir de Noir is a truly superb fragrance, that also comes with a hefty price tag. Ditto with a few others that have a similar scent profile. For the price that CDNIW goes for these days, I honestly don't think you'll find a better alternative. And yeah, as a dude, I absolutely wear the stuff myself, often layered with a smoky tobacco, boozy vanilla or ambery gourmand. In fact, I would even consider it more masculine-leaning than Guerlain's Habit Rouge edt, which is an incredibly powdery rose and vanilla. That one doesn't even come close in terms of sexiness though. More of a day-wear rose.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this release from Armaf and hope it never gets discontinued or reformulated. Incredibly alluring and elegant with superb performance. Couldn't ask for more. Never mind the ostentatiously tacky bottle (with a cap that could easily take out an eye), it's a total winner in my book. The midnight seducer ala moulin rouge - the chocolate temptress that winks across the room, carrying wafts of delight amidst the sounds of hotel jazz. The perfect scent...for a bit of mischief.

Rose de Nuit...
I do like this fragrance. It has a great rose-patchouli combination. I do get the "dark" and "gothic" aspects, and the saffron, nutmeg and agarwood that add the the mystery here.

This is the first fragrance I've tried from Armaf and I can see the quality is decent. I find the projection and power is good too. It lasts for a long time, which is great. The drydown is long and settles to a faintly sweet amber and patchouli combination. I like it and I think it's versatile and could be worn in the cooler seasons and even on warmer nights too.

I had no reference point before trying this fragrance, so I don't have anything to compare it to. However I do know that the rose & patchouli combination is a well known trend in perfumery (almost as popular as rose and oud is these days!) so I have seen this before in other fragrances, and I still think this is great. Great for nights and dressed up occasions, great on a man or woman, and good on performance, projection and longevity. A good and well smelling fragrance for the price. Give it a try if you like dark rose fragrances.

Armaf also started to call the bluf of Tom Ford after they reformulated Noir the Noir. This is a frightening good clone...
