Aventus?...Club de Nuit Intense...? Unfortunately, none of that
I am really a huge fan of Aventus and all its clones. Sure, the perfume is practically advertised and presented by everyone, but I just love it. A great everyday scent that everyone seems to like, is somewhat rare, and above all, one that I enjoy smelling all day long.
What is the logical consequence? I buy everything that goes in that direction and smells like it. That's how I acquired the fragrance oil for 44 euros on Amazon since I couldn't find it anywhere else.
In general, I have few oils as they always seem a bit too cumbersome to apply. However, I made an exception this time.
The bottle is okay and comes with an elongated glass stick for applying the oil. I've tested it now 4-5 times and I think I can say something about the scent, longevity, and sillage. I started with a little and gradually increased the dosage. In the first minute, I smelled a hint of Aventus. However, there was no smokiness to be detected, and the pineapple was more like a lemon.
Okay, I thought, not a big deal, let's see what else comes. For the next hour, I kept smelling it from time to time. Unfortunately, the scent hardly changed. After 2 hours it was still noticeable, and after 3 hours, the scent resembled more of a lemony Nivea cream... I am somewhat disappointed. I knew that an oil wouldn't project as strongly, but this was quite weak. Especially because I am used to much more longevity from Arabic oils. However, the most disappointing part was not the longevity but the scent development. In the end, it had as much to do with Aventus as Bruno Banani does with Amouage. Very unfortunate, especially for the price.
To be honest, I also ordered the oil to experiment a bit to see if I could mix the oil and CdNI for even better longevity. I will try it in a 75% (perfume) to 25% (oil) mixture in a 30 ml bottle. However, I don't have high hopes after the initial disillusionment. (I will keep you updated after the bottling and a storage period of 5 weeks)
My advice to anyone wanting more longevity is to get Al Haramain L' Aventure or CdNI and apply a few extra sprays or fill some into a small spray bottle and reapply. I think the oil is really only for hardcore fans or for people who don't like the alcohol and the "biting" in the perfume.
What remains is a nice summer oil with an Aventus lemon note for a somewhat inflated price. What a pity...
